Iron Edge Flex Raiding

Iron Edge will be doing flex raiding in the Siege of Orgrimmar every Sunday evening.

What was formerly known as the Alt-raid wil now be the Iron Edge Flex raid. Attending these raids is not mandatory, but definitely advised. The gear will be better than LFR, and all the mechanics in the flex raid will also be in normal mode, so it's great practise. But for this reason, pugging it might not be a good idea

Keep in mind that there are limited spots on a flex raid, so make sure you're on time and ready to go at 20:00. Make sure you know tactics, so we can do it as smoothly as possible. The raid will end around 24:00, or when everything is down.

The raid leader will be Safire, and of course I will be in the raid as well for the foreseeable future. You will be allowed to bring alts to the Flex raiding, but keep in mind that it might also be worth doing on your main. Social members and PvPers are also allowed to attend. except for cojche

If you have any questions about the raid or Flex raiding in general, you can post them in this thread, or talk to Graxlos, Doomslay, Safire, Aretum, Auja or myself.

Uhm i for one do not like that... Imo alt raid is cappable of doing 10man, which provides better gear and better atmosphere than flex. What is the reason of fkkn us up if we got enough ppl for 10man raid??

I'll most likely drop out of it, since in my eyes we have no reason to be doing flex, but yeah that is just my oppinion also i'd like to hear what other alt raiders want. Have you talked to others about it?

Cojche if you face roll flex  I think you should consider going normal. But currently as far as I can see you have Raiders with very low gear even for killing lei shen. Flex will grant Ilvl 540 gear and will be a nice boost for moving in to normal soo if you skip tot.

The flex raiding wont be going on forever. It's for the start of SoO, and also gives the chance to main raiders (alt raiders on their mains instead) to get some extra gear and experience in SoO.

I've been wondering if we are able to go straight into this new raid with most people on low gear still. But now, this here, gives the alt raiders a good start. We don't have to continue in ToT for longer than necessary. We can get some gear from flex, SoO and then continue on with our normal 10 man group eventually.

I will obviously prioritize all the core alt raiders, either on Main or Alt, guess it'll depend on your current gear.

But ofc if most alt raiders think this is a bad idea we'll have to reconsider what we're going to do. But imo this sounds like a great idea to start the new raid off, for both main raid and alt raid :)

Hmmm that's a fair point you've made, i still have my doubts about all of this. Let's just hope it works out how u planned and doesn't backfire. Time will tell, i'll tag along to see where this is going.


PS: Don't know if this will be now go to thread for missing raids but i'll post here anyways. Will miss out this sunday coz of Blackwhale. :D So don't blame me, blame negrowhale he is comming for a visit. Will keep u posted with pictures.

Also remember that Flex raid has a similar loot system as LFR. So loot amounts scale pr. player, since its personal loot.

Right so the Flex Raid is starting on Sunday! (15 sep)

As it has been said, if you do Flex SoO, you wont be saved in Normal SoO. So if you're interested in joining, getting some extra loot (noone will take each others loot as it's similar loot system as LFR.) and experience, please be online 20:00 Server time.

Things are starting to settle down a bit, or at least getting into a decent rythme, at home. Having said that raiding 2 nights a week still isn't a viable option for me, but I would be interested in joining for a once week flex raid.

With you and Auja I have atm about 4-5 tanks I think. But the reason I'd prefer you 2 being the tanks is because I want you to gear up for our future 10 man.

But atm I don't think that's what I'm going to do.

I think I'll take the tanks from the main raid. Because I feel like we should get this going a few times and feel comfortable enough as a raid, to then have alt tanks, tanking. So if you and Auja wants to just go dps on your alts, and hopefully get gear that way instead for your tanking specs that'd be great, but as you say, you have no dps gear. I'm guessing the best choice would be you coming on your main. But it's up to you.

If you decide to come on your mains then please make sure you keep your alt gears updated, with LFR, at least.

If this sounds like a bad idea to you, or anyone please let me know.

Remember that Flex raid is using the LFR personal loot system. So as long as they have loot set to tanking, they will be gearing up for that :)

Well if main raid tanks wanna join flex raid for sure i will come with my main for lvling up my items and getting ready for main raid :) Their tank gear is for sure better than us. It will be better.


On the other hand as you said Safire, i will lvl up my alts ilvl with LFR.
I am ready for any duty.

AUJA!! as we talk at phone, i will go on as arcane until i get better fire items. Or if everything goes fine with arcane, you know what i mean....

1 DAY i will be the main tank! AND that day PROCOW will kiss my ....   :D:D

The flex raid plans have nothing to do with the normal iron edge 25man casual raid. We will raid on thursday and monday as usual.

While Flexible mode will never scale in difficultly below 10 players, you can still queue up and begin clearing the instance with as few as 7 players in the raid.

The leader of the flex group will decide what bosses are up. Anyone with more progress will have to kill the bosses again and vice versa.
And people with less progress will miss those bosses.

Not so much if we have enough, if we have more than 25 people we will make two groups. There is no point making two 10man groups if we have 20 f.ex.

The loot is personal like lfr.

This is the most updated raid schedule. Yes, there is a new flex wing wednesday and LFR opens the first wing on wednesday. Then there is a two week break before wing 3 and a two week break before wing 4.

Posting this here in case anyone wasn't aware of it yet:

There will be no scheduled flex raid this upcoming sunday (03-11-13). Instead, there will be Safire's alt raid. If you want to come to this alt raid, you will need to have a properly prepared alt. Unfortunately, there are only 10 spots available in this raid, so not everyone might have a chance at joining this event. If you want to secure a spot for this raid, make sure you let Safire know as soon as possible.

If people still need to do flex for whatever reasons, or is unhappy with the above arrangement, feel free to post that here as well.

With the big turn out in flex, it might be relevant if someone wants to run a weekly flex raid. Since afaik we had a lot more than 10 people attending every sunday.

Next weeks flex raid (17-11-13) might be converted into a flex-raid achievement group where we get the galakras-model mount.

There will only be room for 25 people, so as soon as it's definitive I will make a post where you can sign up for this event.

The Alt raid will be cancelled on Sunday the 17th. So everyone in the Alt raid can also attend the flex achievementrun. Safire will post a message in the Alt raid thread later today to confirm.

I'm signing on my priest for the alt run, he's item lvl 547! and grufle also want to come on one of he's alts!
