Raider Application - Warrior (DPS) - TommyG
« on: November 01, 2014, 03:02:57 am »
Hello, Iron Edge!

Character: TommyG
Armory: http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/Kazzak/TommyG/advanced
Class/Spec: Warrior (DPS)
Member Type: raider

Personal Info:

My name is Tom i'm 22 years old and live in Belgium.
I study social work and work for a ngo.

Class/Spec:

I am planning to play fury and gladiator, since fury changed a lot I figured its a good time to reroll. Same counts for gladiator with it being a new specc everyone will have to get used to it. I will be switching from fury to glad since they are both speccs I like a lot. Fury for the cleave fights and gladiator for the single target ones. I love the mobility of a warrior and the constantly evolving rotation of fury, with always having multiple choices that procc but only one right one. In glad I'm looking forward to do the prot rotation which is juggling between heroic strike and your other abilities and is just very fun to do. Combined with the good defense and burst cd's it will be a blast to play.

Alts:

I plan on having one competitive alt, currently I have a druid and shaman lvl 90 on Kazzak. Dont know which I will be taking tho.

Professions:

I always used to have engineering and something else but since the bonus is gone, I will be lvling when I feel like it.

Raiding Experience:

My first character was a moonkin untill ICC
After that I've always mained a enhancement shaman for my heroic progression. Icc was also the first raid where i focused on progress.
icc: 11/12hc, bh:4/6hc, bastion:1/4hc, fl: 7/7normal took a break for hc untill MoP where I did fast progress untill hc because I couldn't find myself entertained in the xpac. I often had to raid lead and interrupt fights like maloriak hc.
Worth mentioning I played wildstar on a high lvl where raiding very engaging.

Previous Guilds:

I used to be in the guild Dark Guard on Deathwing. I was there for years, we even had guildmeets like you guys! The reason it dissbanded was because we were on a very small populated server and being the last 25man guild made the recruitement horrible. After being in that situation for a while the core became tired of it and left for another server. That made me quit the game for a while.

Availability:

Depends from week to week. Thats why i choose to raid a bit less, so I can still have a very good attendence. I'm also planning to pvp a little since I have time during the day on an irregular basis.

Communication:

Yup, yes and yea!

Computer / Connection:

PC Specs:
CPU:i5-4670k
Graphics: geforce gtx 760 sli
Memory (GB): 8gb
Internet Speed:
download: 50mbps
upload: 3.5mbps

Addons/UI:

http://i.imgur.com/TyUq1MT.jpg?1
Sorry but I don't have the approriate ilvl to get in a lfr.

I like my UI to be clean and functional, so I can focus on whats important.
Its a part I like a lot in the game and I'm constantly tweaking it. Every bar and every font has to be the same. bless elvui <3
For keybinds I have a logitech g600 so I got everything under my thumb!
-elvui
-skada
-dbm
-quartz
-bartender
-atlasloot
-grid

Other Games:

I've played gw2, wildstar, mmo-s in general .. I've always liked playing one main game. I rarely play other games for a long time.

Why Iron Edge?

You guys seem like a well founded guild, seeing pictures of a guildmeet and other details on your website reminds me how my previous guild was. Although I dont have the time I had before I'd like to keep raiding on a competitive level. I have time but not the structured schedule to be raiding to much.

What can I offer Iron Edge?

Well, I realize I'm not offering all that much. I can't show you high ilvl's or rankings. I am just getting done with my preparation for WoD where I would very much like you to show my will to performe at my best in raids as im always looking for a way to maximize my dps. I've always been loyal to my guilds and put much effort into helping people with speccs and tactics. I'm back from a long break, rerolled on this server and now looking forward a lot to kick some arse.

Where did I hear about Iron Edge?

wowprogress

Last Words?

This is my final argument:

I thought I was already sold on just the application, but that final argument totally wrapped it up!

Let's give the officers a chance to take a good look at your application. :)

You say your work varies from week to week. Can you be sure have 75 % attendance at the very least?

Hey, as warrior main (and not an officer, so don't crucify me for posting please) I'd love it if you could explain your talent choices in 6.02 for fury and maybe give a little rundown which stats you want on your gear and how they synergise.
I hope Sinafey doesn't kill me for asking his go-to question.  ;D

Howdie y'all!

It's nice to see al these questions.

About gearing and talents:
Mastery: for enraged dmg - multistrike > crit: increases the uptime on enrage, also with the 5% bonus we get we scale very well with it > haste:  reduces gcd and the cd of bloodthirst> versatility

Everything is getting tweaked atm but from what I've been reading in simcrafts:
Single target:
sudden death or furious strikes
storm bolt
bloodbath

AoE:
UqT
Shockwave
Bladstorm

@Xormn:

@Devilrox: I have been raiding for the last 4 years, the raids I talked about are the ones I find worth mentioning. This being a semi-casual guild I have been raiding on a higher lvl.

@Vejeta: Wildstar is relevant because although the community was very small, raiding was way harder than any raid I know in wow. For you the ingame relevance might be useless but it still means I'm capable of knowing tacts, class and everything else that comes with high end raiding.

@Gaeios: The reason I want to raid a bit less is because I want to have a good attendance, so yea I hope I'll be able to get as close as I can to 80-90% attendance. I wouldnt feel good in a guild with less then 75%.

The reason you guys apeal to me is that you seem to be a well settled guild, friends playing together. Like I said, I might have played on a higher lvl but the most fun I ever had in a game was when I was playing in a guild that knew each other and had lots of fun playing the game. We did guildmeets, laughed our asses of and knew who the people we were playing with were. Things lots of guilds seem to forget.

I hope I have covered everything.
If you have more questions don't mind to shoot them at me!

I wanted to add that gladiator will be as important for me, with it being easyer to gear. I like the rotation and the idea of killing things with a huge shield a lot.
It will be better for single target fights so I will be switching a lot between both.

To be a little more precice about stat priority:
-Haste 6% self buffed
-After that you'd want to get to your crit cap 45% (self buffed)
-After the caps mastery is your next best stat
