Raider Application - Shaman (DPS) - Santiaga
« on: March 15, 2015, 10:19:38 am »
Hello, Iron Edge!

I am applying for the main raid.

Character: Santiaga
Armory: http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/Kazzak/Santiaga/advanced
Class/Spec: Shaman (DPS)
Member Type: raider

Personal Info:

Vlad, 29, Kharkiv (Ukraine), PE

Class/Spec:

Enhancement
I'm playing enhancement only, finding other specs quite boring. My current gear level spins aroung 680.

Shaman
I've been playing shaman since BC so had a chance to learn it.
According to http://www.noxxic.com/wow/pve/shaman/enhancement/stat-priority, my stat priority goes as Agility > Haste > Multistrike > Mastery >= Crit >= Versatility.

I use Hekili ad-don which suggests me my single-target and aoe rotation.

Alts:

I don't possess any alts close to level cap since I've always been lazy to level and gear them up.

Professions:

Herbalism/Alchemy - they've been with me from the beginning. Sounds natural for a cow to like herbs while alchemy allows to brew PVE drugs without spending money on them. No special recipes I'm afraid.

Raiding Experience:

Played semi-hardcore in BC, finishing BT, MH & SWP before nerfs.
Skipped WotLK and half of the Cataclysm. Since then, played casually till finding a semi-hardcore static raid in Pandaria. As for the achievements, please check http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/kazzak/Santiaga/achievement#168 out.

Previous Guilds:

There were a bunch of them since 2008, none of particular interest. Reasons of leaving were diverse - from conflicts to being bored. Of course, all of them were inside the russian community except for one Swedish guild on Burning Steppes EU where this character was born.

Availability:

Usually, getting back from work before 19:00 CET and available till 24:00 CET.

Communication:

We have English classes at work and I attend an upper-intermediate group. I have multiple voice chat clients available, including Teamspeak 3. I have a microphone, though I rarely speak.

Computer / Connection:

I don't have any hardware issues and use stable & high-speed broadband Internet without any lags, dc's etc.

Addons/UI:

DBM - obviously, a life save for a distracted raider
Skada - to see whether I'm slaking
Hekili - turning WOW into guitar hero

UI screenshot: http://i.imgur.com/TewzApL.jpg

Other Games:

Mostly, Hearthstone. Occasionally, Tera.

Why Iron Edge?

I've surfed through wowprogess and found your guild being suitable for my needs (e.g. two days raiding schedule, UK-based so I would have a chance to improve my English etc.)

What can I offer Iron Edge?

A dps character for their raids

Where did I hear about Iron Edge?

Wowprogress

Last Words?

Can't think of any right now, perhaps you can ask me some leading questions.

Sorry about the late response, our officer shaman is currently semi afk handling some personal issues, I hope he will be here to comment very soon.

Are you in the peaceful parts of Ukraine or in the Putinified zone?

Bears like alts!

Well, judging from my unhindered ability to play WoW, my area is peaceful (except from occasional explosions and fake mining alerts  :o). Putinification has failed in our region, though we were in the shortlist of the evil dwarf.

Looks good to me!

We'll wait for final approval from our melee officer, he's currently travelling.

Sorry about the delay, as Rashkebab said though.

Have to ask, are you any good at Guitar Hero?

Why have you gone for that particular talent and glyph setup, especially storm ele over liquid magma?

What do you think of the stat priority?

Do you have any other combat logs? I've managed to find 2, a Gruul kill, and a bunch of Blackhand wipes.

(1) Have played Guitar Hero once or twice, but that button-pushing impression closely resembles my experience with that Hekili addon, allowing not to think about rotation at all and providing solid dps throughput.

(2) I basically have two talent combinations (Echo/Primal Elementalist/Liquid Magma for aoe fights, Elemental Master/Unleashed fury/Storm ele for single target fights). Don't have a reason not to believe guys from Noxxic on this. You can see their calculator by yourself - http://www.noxxic.com/wow/talents#ShAx!......./1r

(3) As I've already mentioned, I strongly believe in stat priority submitted in internet guides:

Agility;
Haste (to about 50%);
Mastery;
Multistrike;
Versatility;
Critical Strike;
Haste (after 50%).

(4) I have never bothered about combat logs I'm afraid. Now have tried to find any on epeenbot - but unsuccessfully. Perhaps some data may got lost over the transition from a
russian realm.

Yup, guides do make it a lot easier than hours and hours of simulation/testing.

Seems solid enough, prod an officer for an invite.
