Raider Application - Mage (DPS) - Mortoss (XR)
« on: June 27, 2016, 12:14:25 pm »
Hello, Iron Edge!

I am applying for the main raid.

Character: Mortoss
Server: Draenor
Armory: http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/Draenor/Mortoss/advanced
Class/Spec: Mage (DPS)
Member Type: raider

Personal Info:

Hi my name is Ido Panski I'm a 33 years old from Israel
I am a COO of a small ERP Software Company named Rubinstein Software.

Class/Spec:

I haven't raided since we downed Mythic Archy in December so not bound to any "spec"
I have been playing Mage since Vanilla (started just before AQ launched) so played all specs throughout all iterations and will play the spec that does most damage
Though I cross my fingers and hope really hard that it will not be Arcane in Legion

my favorite spec is flexible and has moved from Frost to Fire depending on blizzard changes
I LOVED frost in the beginning of WoD the sheer number of options with banking procs was great to play, being able to Choose when to burst was very fun
Archi Trinket kinda killed it with the Frost-weaving but it will not be in Legion so there is hope

Fire in BRF was one of the best things blizzard ever did with the option of Double Combustion spread
but again it was Trinket based, without it fire was nice and Combustion was always interesting

Arcane I hate, truly, from start to finish, hate it.. its boring, its annoying, its not fun
the last time I enjoyed Arcane was in TBC when it was Haste Based buff and not mana cost buff
and even then I think I enjoyed it because it was something new and not because it was fun

I do not know what I will play in Legion, and the Artifact kinda make this decision even harder
I will wait till raiding start to decide, maybe bank some Artifact points and not use them so not to waste any
But will probably be between Frost and Fire (unless Arcane will once again dominate them beyond belief)

If we speak about WoD
then its obviously Gear dependent and Spec Dependent
Arcane was Mastery and then Haste when you get all the Trinkets and Sets bonuses in HFC
Frost was Multistrike and then Haste with the Archi Trinkets
Fire is Crit Crit and some nice Crit, with mastery to make your crits count more

Frost is a game of Procs, you have FoF and BF procs and you use them when you need burst, or movement
a great example is HM Imperator fight when you banked the procs before he change phases and then you throw a Frozen Orb towards him so that it will hit all the adds that he spawn and meanwhile you through endless FoF procs on the main targets (the Ogre Mages and the Big Guy) obviously you had your talents etc to decide what to do
and then came Archi trinket and you had to Throw a Frostbolt weaving between each Ice Lance and half of the Class greatness was thrown down the garbage

Fire was always about the Crit, Combustion and Spreading
this will no longer be the case in Legion
but til legion the main power of fire was to track your DoTs to bank your IB for when you already have Both Heating up and Pyro! as a Proc so you can Pyro->IB->Pyro
and ofc Combustion at the right time
and then they gave us the Double IB trinket which let us do insane amount of dmg through cheesing bliz mechanics by doing COmbustion on the 2nd target, IB it twice so that the Main target will get Double Combustion DoT on it was fun, was good, dead now
new Fire looks interesting though different

Arcane is boring, I hate it... no real movement, no real anything and a mistake can destroy you
basically its all about doing Burn and then keeping your mana at the right amount (usually 93%) til the next Burn
the Burn itself is spam of AB and AM procs
while the conserve is the same only you through Barrage when your mana will drop below the line

Alts:

Not really
the last time I had Raiding Alts was ICC
I do have Priest, Warrior and Druid at 100
but they mostly did Dungeons and LFR if any

Professions:

Tailoring and Enchanting
because as a Mage I needed Cloth Armor to make to myself
and since Tailoring doesn't require Gathering profession
I took the only other Profession that didn't need it

I have Realm's First Grand Master Tailor and Both Zen Master Tailor And Enchanter
so I take my Professions very seriously :)
have Tons of Enchants from all periods of WoW.
also Maxed Cook/First Aid/Archy/Fishing with many Achievements and special items from all of those

It will be fun to have Prof. important again in Legion

Raiding Experience:

I have done it all
in almost all levels and all Positions
though 90% of the time was DPS with my Mage

I started in MC as a Raider when we were towards the end of Progressing them
took the Mantle of Raid leading and got to Raggy who Won and crushed us
Joined another guild and cleared BWL and most of AQ with it (I think we downed Twins towards the end)
did a couple of Old Naxx bosses but no way near the hard ones

in TBC we had enough friends to do Karazhan so we set up on our own once again with me as Guild and Raid Leader
it was hard to transition back to 25 and while we managed on Gruul the randoms were bad and in the end we joined other guilds
Cleared everything in TBC apart from Sunwell (stopped playing before Sunwell was out)

my RL friends from Karazhan formed a top 200 guilds towards the end of Sunwell
and in Wrath I joined them for a Sart 3 Drakes and the easy Naxx
but RL came in the way and I couldn't raid 4-5 days a week
joined another guild and did Ulduar including Hard Modes (but not firestarter or Yoggy 1 light)
and strolled to GC
in ICC I returned to my RL friend and Family where we enjoyed a slow progress killed LK Normal and some HC
and we continued through Cata with the same group
up to 6/8 HC DS (again with me as Raid leading)

and then the Panda showed up
and everyone left the game
I leveled fast, got my Realm First Tailor and Enchanter
and then left the game for no one was playing it.

WoD was announced
I returned to PuG Panda to see what it was about
and did a couple of realm transfer to find a guild I can enjoy

in WoD I PuGed most Normal and Heroics and tried to get to a Mythic Guild
wasn't easy but in the end HFC came out Tempest needed new players
and I joined them on the 2nd week of Mythic
making First kill with them on almost all the Bosses in HFC including Archi

Previous Guilds:

Tempest
they decide to be more "hard core"
we were World Top 500 guild
it was good and fun
but they wanted to force alts, and not only that but alts who fill the same Role as your main
and to make double\triple raids for gears and a lot of other things
and while I want to clear the Content and overcome all the bosses
I want to enjoy myself while doing it

I have a real life, I prefer to raid 2 days and not 3
i prefer to give EVERYTHING I have on those 2 days and while if I have an Alt and Enjoy playing with it and the Guild needs me then sure I'll be the first to suggest it
but I don't want to now keep 2-3 fully geared characters just because the guild wants to be hardcore

Availability:

I'm mostly available in the evenings
I will prefer not to raid on Fri-Sat but apart from that I can come any other day
Thursdays are good days for me but once in awhile (2-3 months) I might have something on a Thursday since its the usual day where everyone are free before the weekend

since I am from Israel our weekend and Holidays are usually different than the rest of the world
in October I will have a couple of days of family gatherings (3rd and 11th)

in addition I am a roleplayer and we sometimes have LARPS specifically will have a 3 Days game between the 29.9 and the 1.10

Communication:

fluent in English
have TS and a Mic

Computer / Connection:

I have an Alienware 17" Laptop so its a good PC even though it is a Laptop
(it is my work PC as well so it had to be a Laptop)

Israel have a very good internet and do not have any disconnection issues
my ping is low and 'green' but it is not 10-15 like I had when I was in Belgium

Addons/UI:

http://i.imgur.com/zHEZobH.jpg

since I am using a Logiteh G600 Mouse and G13 Keyboard
EVERYTHING is keybound if you will notice my action bar are 3 groups of 22 keys that are arranged like the G13 keyboard and so they are all keybound
where the most left is the Basic use the middle group is the sometimes used and the right is the not really used as key bound but I technically can cast my teleport orgrimmar from my keyboard if I wanted to

ElvUI - because it have all the needed nice to have on 1 addon and it is easy to manage
BUT
my Bars are with Ion - been with it when it was Macaroon and even before when it was trinity
just the best damn action bar addon there is and allows me to macro every button I want

BigWigs - I find it nicer than DBM
in addition to Exorsus Raid Tools - to supplement the boss mode and to add the raid Cooldown list
and some Specific Boss modes (iskar assist, mark of the legion helper etc)

I have both TellMeWhen and WeakAura since I like working with TMW and its easier and nicer for me, but when you need to copy something from a Boss ppl usually link the WeakAura

in addition I use CombustionHelper to track my Ignite for the big bad combo

Outfitter, Altaolic and some Broker bars for ease of life

Other Games:

Mostly RPG, Strategy and Story Based Games
Witcher series, Dragon Age, X-Com, Civilization (up to 4, 5 killed it for me), Darkest Dungeons, Stellaris, Batman Arkham Series, Banner Saga, Divinity Original Sin, Shadowrun Returns
and alot more

anything made by Blizzard (at least to finish the main game once)

not really a PVP friendly , though i did enjoy Vanilla AV and WSG

Why Iron Edge?

You are raiding 2 days a week
and you cleared Mythic Archi

that is a dream come through for a serious raider who have a job and a family and doesn't want to commit his life to wow

What can I offer Iron Edge?

I am a good Mage Player who is dedicated to be the best he can be
reading across the boards for new ways to max out my class
and enjoyable to be around

Where did I hear about Iron Edge?

Shhhhh, let him think what he wants Shylar!

I like this application a lot as well! We already have three mages on our current roster, but I think you definitely qualify as "exceptional".

Where did I hear about Iron Edge?

You mean like a friend on battle.net, or what?

As for how I heard I meant the Battle.net Forums
Legion is coming
and I prefer to start with a Guild and not start searching after I PuGed Heroic Raid

so I went to the forums and WoWProgress and started searching for a guild

Hiyo!

Really nice application, you are quite thorough with everything and I love it. I'd like to have you on and trial you in the raid, but just so that it's stated - we aren't going to be raiding until Legion. We've cleared the content enough times and we're satisfied for the time being. You can come into the guild and just stay as a trialist until Legion comes around and we'll trial you in the first tier there.

If this sounds reasonable, you can poke me or an officer ingame for an invite  :)
