Raider Application - Druid (DPS/Healer) - Sumoru (XR)
« on: September 22, 2016, 10:27:14 pm »
Hello, Iron Edge!

I am applying for the main raid.

Character: Sumoru
Server: Xavius
Armory: http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/Xavius/Sumoru/advanced
Class/Spec: Druid (DPS/Healer)
Member Type: raider

Personal Info:

My name is Emil Sebastian Van Leeuwen.

I love (and live) with my beloved Kithril (No homo) in Copenhagen, Denmark - cold scandinavia.

I study AP Service Management in Copenhagen and that's all happening in the daytime.
I also work part-time in a restaurant, where I will begin to plan my shift on non-raid days. (A guy's got to make a living.) I migth quit the job in the end of the year, using more time on school and hobbies.

Oh, I also play the drums in a band. That doesn't really take any of my time anymore, unfortunately.

Class/Spec:

I actually like two of the druid specs mostly, when raiding. I also tank and have some fun with feral dps in dungeons. But I main Balance, then resto. ATM I dps for my guild.

I played healer for all of my wow career, and in WOD I was a hunter DPS, which got me interested in DPS.

Ilvl approx 847 for balance (could be higher but i go for haste and crit)
Approx the same for resto.

Well, whenever I can't dps, in have the resto affinity even tho the guardian is recommended, because I like to jump out of boomkin and help out the healers in that time. If I can't do that i usually shift to guardian trait for the 10% reduced damage (Yummy).

I go for Haste, int, then crit. I mostly use Icy Veins for my info for my class, and I read about optimizing rotations.

Balance rotation is sort of simple, things you have to focus on is just if there are 1,2 or 3+ targets as it depends on if you should be using starfall, starsurge, and lunarfall or solar strike.

Restoration is a different story. I take the talent which gives 2 swiftmends if I need an "oh-shit" button, but atm I have a good AOE healing spec and I'm doing really fine with it. In the downtime of healing, I can spam Solar Strike to land a 40k-ish dps, which helps the group/raid.

Alts:

Not ATM. Might level a DH or Hunter at some point, but focusing on my druid. There's so much to do in legion.

Professions:

I don't have any proffesions at the moment. I don't find that aspect interesting at the moment.

In earlier expansions I had herb and leatherworking, for stat reasons, and I also was really into Archelogy.

Raiding Experience:

As mentioned before, I have raided a lot as a healer, but I never really did bleeding edge hardcore raiding. I finished content later than others, because of earlier activities I have not had to time to raid 2+ days a week, and put time into WoW like I have now.

Previous Guilds:

Nothing worth mentioning. I migth have forgotten them aswell. Sorry about that.

As I mentioned before I haven't been in a guild with this kind of mentality, raiding-wise, but I would love to try it, and I'm sure I'm good at it.

ATM I'm in Snaginanesh. It's just too silly. People can't do simple mechanics and the raid leader is arguing with guild members in voice chat for 10 minutes at a time. I just want a good raid team. Not to brag or sound like an ass, but I'm also outplaying any of the DPS there, so it just feels like a whole team dragging my experience of raiding down.

Availability:

Got shifts for

30 Sept
03 Oct
05 Oct
10 Oct
15 Oct
22 Oct
28 Oct
30 Oct

I'm prone to changing shifts, if they fall on raid days, should be no problem since we are a lot of workers there.
I'm going to change this from next month, to whatever fits your schedule.

Communication:

I have Teamspeak and I understand and speak fluently English.

Computer / Connection:

I just bougth a new gaming computer this summer, and It's all with greaaaat specs. I never disconnect, I live with Kithril, and since he's working with a danish internet and phone company, we should be good.
No lag, no ping.

Addons/UI:

Mostly default.
I use recount, DBM, pretty standard stuff. Weakauras I need to setup, but I don't feel like I need much to perform my max.

I'll put the screenshot in a reply comment.

Other Games:

Overwatch, Hearthstone, Heroes of Newerth.

Why Iron Edge?

I want to raid with my roommate, in a fun and proffesional raid environment. I want to max my potential and have a good raid experience.

What can I offer Iron Edge?

A fun, stable, eager-to-learn, engaged raider. With a gaming background since 2000. Lol.

Where did I hear about Iron Edge?

From Kithril. And everyone's just talking about you constantly. best guild ever.

Last Words?

Hi Sumoru

You seem to be missing quite a few crucial keybind. I see there is no keybinding for Barkskin, Elune, Combat Res and healthstone. In my opinion, a main dps cooldown and 3 abilities which require to be quickly used should be on a close by keybind since ; tank died so needs cr quickly - tbh should be on a mouseover macro and as well as keybound | healthstone/potion/potion - a split second usage can be the difference between keeping yourself alive or not.

You may wish to consider these as they should increase your performance.

Best of luck with the application

Hey Shylar!

Thanks for the quick reply.
I must admit I'm a clicker, and I've really gotten used to this. But I will take this advice and bind those keys so as to increase my performance.

Thanks again.

Hi Sumoru!

Pretty good application but I'm having a bit of trouble seeing you as a compelling candidate for our raid.

I'm sure Kithril has told you that we have a very full roster filled with a lot of competing people with a variety of mythic raiding experience, but I don't really see that from this app. In fact I'm not getting any information about your history as a WoW player.

Also, does Kithril endorse your application? If he does, he should come in here and do that.

You seem like a nice guy, maybe you could join one of our other raiding teams and get some experience? Let me know!

I completely vouch for this guy! :)

Besides that, he sits right besides me when we're playing so it would be nice to raid together.

Hi Rashkebab!

I know,I know, I'm also very late by applying for a raid guild after the content is released. :'(

About the history; I simply never raided on a mythic level. But I tried most of the content on as high a level as possible for me and the group I was with. Pugging mostly, because I didn't have time for a dedicated raiding guild. I love progressing!

And I've also played on a few different chars and actually on different accounts (that I don't have access/remember) so I can't really link to a page that shows what I've done in the past. But it's mostly all bosses on second most high difficulty and then the first few bosses on highest difficulty.

I'm up for joining another raid team, to prove myself, or just join this group once a week if that's better. First priority would be to raid with Kithril though  8)

Yup! You can poke an officer for an invite. You can talk to Xormn on how to raid with the weekend raid.

Although i'm rolling with A LOT of druids, a range dps is extremely welcomed.

Our raids are Sundays, 8pm.

It hasn't been 100% decided yet, but we will raid regardless. And yes, as long as you're on kazzak, and in our guild, you can join.

Off to a bad start, my boss called in for a staff meeting this sunday, I'll just find out if it's crucial for me to be there... Sorry about that.
