Weekend Raider Application - Paladin (DPS) - Bloodguardia
« on: June 03, 2017, 09:49:01 pm »
Hello, Iron Edge!

I am applying for the Weekend Raid.

Character: Bloodguardia
Armory: http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/Kazzak/Bloodguardia/advanced
Class/Spec: Paladin (DPS)
Member Type: wraider

Personal Info:

My name is Gal but everybody calls me Zup, i am 20 yo from Slovenia. I am a law student (1st year). My other occupation is theatre play which i am doing for over 8 years. If there is snow i also snowboard.

Class/Spec:

I was always playing retribution paladin and usually never had to swap to second spec in progress raids. If i did however it was always healing (never liked to tank).
But as i mentioned i prefer to play Ret, i really like the diversity of specialisation, good damage, heals and survivability.
I have to mention that i just came back to WoW after 8 month break so my ilvl is pretty low (689). For holy i am not sure but around 645 i would say. I am aware that i need to gear up asap before i am able to join your raids (in case you approve application).

Understand class, i obvioulsy know what each spell does and when to use it. Ret is pretty straightforward. If you wonder about rotation, i alwasy try to do my best to be as close to ratation as Fardion on Icy Veins suggests. I also watch Thete's videos on youtube (good suggestions for talents and trinkets on certain fights).
As a Ret i always go for haste first and then crit/ver second.

Alts:

No relevant alts, i basically leveled up my paladin and geared him for EN and then quit after opening week. So my alts are all 100 but i do have warrior, DH and shaman.

Professions:

I have alchemy (800) combined with herbalism (800) and cooking (756, will be 800 in few days). Why? After few years of raiding i found out that there is always that one guy who never brings enough potions or flasks and always asks for food. So instead of all the fuss with teleporting in and out i am here to help.
No cool recipies tho :(

Raiding Experience:

I started raiding in 4.3 where i cleared DS, cleared MSV and a bit of terrace then guild felt appart. 11/12n ToT (was struggling to find guild). Full SoO mythic clear, paragons and garrosh after nerf. 4/7m HM before i took half year break. 11/13m in HC (Mannoroth 1%), guild took break untill Legion. EN normal on first day then i had to quit.
I always played dps ret paladin. I was never an officer or raid leader but i did assist them in raids (calling things out etc. for those who didnt learn tatcis).

Previous Guilds:

Started on Ragnaros with Gelu Angleus, i left because i took break and raid atmosphere wasn't good since we had to take more than 10 new ppl from our 10 man heroic team in SoO to 20 man myhtic.
Migrated to Kazzak to join guild Ikona, switched to Unstable Experiment beacuse most people took break before Legion.
I left Unstable Experiment because of college (i wasn't sure if i could do both at the same time, especially since they wanted to raid 4 days a week. After this year i see i can do both, but with normal raiding times (1-2 times/week).

Availability:

Usually i am always available except for mondays when i have theatre practice. And in January from 15th-to around 5th February i have exam period and at the end of May and beginning of June.

Communication:

I do have slavic accent aka russian accent when i speak english but otherwise i am fluent. I have Ts3 and i can listen. I also have mic that i can use.

Computer / Connection:

I have macbook (yes, yes dont laugh please). It runs decently on 60 fps.
I usually dont have internet problems. I never disconnect because of slow internet.
But if there is internet problem i always have neighbour's internet as a back up.

Addons/UI:

Elvui --> it comes with everything you need for clean UI, aswell as timers, raid frames etc.
MSBT --> so i have damage numbers on side of my screen to make it as clean as possible.
DBM --> wont really go in details since is mandatory to have this addon in raids (or Bigwigs)
Excorcus raid tool --> great addon for specific fights (like asigning runes at Kormrok fight in HC)
Weak Auras --> to track my holy power, buffs, and more important CDs. Aswell as for tracking debuffs or timers in raids.
GTFO --> to tell me if i stand in fire

Other Games:

I play Hearthstone.

Why Iron Edge?

I am looking for guild that offers raiding at decent lvl but is not pushing people too much. And that how your alt raid sounds like.

What can I offer Iron Edge?

I can offer decent retribution paladin and as i player i can offer somebody who comes prepared to raids, does not rage quite or cry over loot.

Where did I hear about Iron Edge?

wowprogress

Last Words?

Yes. I am not really good in writing applications and i usually prove myself in raids.
I dont have everything enchanted and gemed yet because most items are low ilvl and i am getting better gear on daily basis.

Hello.

First off, i'd like to point out that this is not an alt raid. Our guild has 3 teams (as you can see on wowprogress) and they have separate members. It is true that in the past some of the members from the mythic team joined with their mains or alts to clear, but this expansion we haven't had any permanent joiners.

Secondly, our team is quite full on melee and i cannot offer another melee spot to just anyone, no matter how much i want to get 20 people to start doing some mythic bosses.

Good luck on your search.
