Battle for azeroth

Thoughts?

I think they could of have picked a better plot, I feel as if this expansion was a lazy choice. But it's still early days

Cinematic was amazing though. 👍

I’m not feeling it myself, starting to get tired of wow but I have been raiding end content for 11 of the 12 years I’ve been playing so I guess that’s normal. Cinematic was cool, but I’m leaning towards the alliance storyline more than the hordes if I’m honest.

So let’s reroll to alliance and be rank 1alliance by a landslide on kazzak shall we...

Im a carebear, so I like the expansions with a common enemy better. Looks like it could be fun for people who like PVP.

Yeah Grax, I have the same feeling as you.

In the end it depends on the actual content to see how enjoyable it is.

I guess this Exp. will have an overall better feeling on servers with a somewhat balanced population. Presumably they will introduce Zone control nodes in the fashion of e.g. Hellfire Peninsula, which doesn't really work for a server with a massive imbalance of up to~95:5 (src: https://realmpop.com/eu-kazzak.html for the statistics nerds). It remains questionable, wether these "nodes" can be used cross realm, as it was suggested in the Guild chat discussion.

Story wise, I have a feeling that there will be a side more keen to the Void (see Sylvanas in the trailer) and one being more on the Light's side. Either way, this opens some interesting plot lines, especially since we now know that the Light is not a somewhat manifestation of "Good" (most notable when it meets disobedience as shown in the X'era/Illidan cinematic).

Its gonna go to the old gods and void later on i think after digfesting more info aslong as its not mop mark 2 itll be okay.

Azshara finally getting confronted after cameoing in the last what 3/4 expansions, means n'zoth will rear his tentacle porn based self too.

When first seeing the horde v alliance premise I wasn't super enthused, but the more I've looked into the features coming with the expansion the more interested I get, the horde levelling zones look really cool (I'd say more than broken isles ones), I'm hyped for zandalar stuff and am tempted to change to the new allied races, like others have said it seems the expansion will start with the faction war premise and then move into a more world ending threat like previous expansions, so overall the more I see the more I like,

FOR THE HORDE !!

I'm pretty confident the announcements would have been received a lot better if they didn't botch the presentation so much. WoW easily had the most impressive and interesting announcements of all of the opening ceremony. But for some reason they decided to push it to the last 10 minutes, quite intentionally forcing us to watch them shill for three dead franchises (four if you want to be harsh and count Overwatch) before they would get to the good stuff.
They should have just opened with Ion Hazzicostas and the cinematic trailer and make Classic Warcraft a nice send-off by "you think you do, but you don't-guy" to end the presentation, instead of the other way around.

In terms of the expansion it seems pretty clear to me that this is where they cash in on successful implementations in past expansions and continue to improve upon them. Garrisons 3.0, World Quests 2.0 and improved content release cycles. I think the expansion will be good in the same way Legion was good - the main problem is that they don't have a lot of new stuff that gets people excited (yet).

So dry and cynical, but yes totally agree.

Diablo currently is not doing well, no. Heroes, probably not, but I'm betting it's making its way around with the lootboxes. Starcraft is still HUGE, not really in EU, but the US and especially Korea, shit is crazy there still. And Overwatch dead? Really? Boy oh boy Rash, you don't like anything do you? :P

I'm not too worried that actual content will be an issue. It's the story aspect that I feel is lacking.

I was happy they were slowly moving away from a horde/alliance war to a strained cooperative stance. Currently it just feels like a complete 180, but maybe once more info/lore comes out it will become more clear.
