Raider Application - Warlock (DPS) - Faènskap
« on: August 03, 2018, 02:09:31 am »
Hello, Iron Edge!

I am applying for the main raid.

Character: Faènskap
Armory: http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/Kazzak/Fa%C3%A8nskap/advanced
Class/Spec: Warlock (DPS)
Member Type: raider

Personal Info:

Name: Nikolai
Age: 25
Location: Norway

Studying Biochemistry

Class/Spec:

Enjoy all 3 specs of the warlock. So will raid on the spec preforming the best, even if this mean changing spec from fight to fight.

During the prepatch ive been fooling around with demo alot.

Well, atm we are in the prepatch phase so stat weights etc does not matter to much atm.

Atm i like to go for haste when playing demo and dest, and mastery when playing aff.

Normally i would continuously sim myself, but from what ive understood the warlocksims are not 100% accurate atm.

When it comes to rotation i usually read guides either on icy-veins or class specific sites such as https://lockonestopshop.com/#!/Home or https://www.peakofserenity.com/.

I also like to look at logs from top players to learn certaint timmings and tricks if i feel like im underpreforming compared to others that play the same spec/class.

Alts:

Usually have all classes except shaman at max level, and try to clear HC on all of them at least once.

Usually have 1 main and 2 alts that i try to keep relativly geared, wich tend to be DK, Monk or Druid.

DK: https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-gb/character/kazzak/Fortv%C3%ADla
Monk: https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-gb/character/kazzak/Ustab%C3%AEl

Professions:

Almost all my toons have Herbalism and Alchemy now, so i could make my own potion.

My warlock has Inscription instead of Alchemy, cause i wanted to try out something new and beeing able to make scrolls for BFA.

Raiding Experience:

Short Story
Cata - Tanked Dragon Soul Normal
MoP - Tanked  9/14 SoO HC, did 14/14 later on with most classes during the prepatch
WoD - 7/7 HC HM, 9/10 Mythic BRF, 13/13 Mythic HFC
Legion - 3/7 EM Mythic , 11/11 HC NH, 7/9 Mythic ToS, 3/11 Mythic Antorus

Some context.
During SoO the 10M guild i raided with, stopped raiding when we got to blackfuse and i joined my friends 25m Guild as a social. This guild often did heroic/mythic Alt/social runs, where i preformed and got asked if i wanted to apply as a full time raider. But due to starting at UNI that year i didnt know how much free time i would have. Also ended up going to signrapore for quite some time. Came back towards the middle/end of BRF. Joined a new guild that consisted of people that met during pugging.

Once this guild got going i felt like we cleared at a nice speed, while also having lot of fun together. But during our christmass break some of us pugged mythic Archimonde and killed him. As a guild we had just killed mannaroth. The Raidleader raged and became quite hostile due to this, so a few of us then joined endless here on kazzak.

In legion Endless wanted to push their rankings, from a top 600 guild to top 300 guild in legion. But i just got a promotion at the job i worked at the time and could not put in the required time they demanded from their mythic players.

As i still wanted to raid, i joined a little less hardcore guild (Exodia) but after a week i realized; i didnt have enough time to enjoy the game at all, basicly was only able to log in for raids, not able to do m+ or farm AP etc, so stepped down as a raider. Even so i still got invited to some mythic progress as social, when someone didnt preform and i was online. This even when beeing quite undergeared compared to most of them. But over time i became more and more casual just leveling all classes to 110 and pugging HC.

Once i got more free time i wanted to get back into progress, but didnt know how hard it was to find decent guilds without any recent raid experience (Feel like ive been very lucky with the guilds ive joined before) Jumped around a few guilds before i joined my current one.

Had a lot of good players and progressed at a ok speed. But a problem was that the guild had a lot of players i dont consider at mythic level and towards the end of ToS they started to lose interest, stopped trying, didnt show up for raids and underpreformed. This made a lot of the good players leave for better guilds. Told the RL i would stay untill they found someone to replace me. Which didnt happen untill early Antorus. I then took another break from the game cause i didnt feel like spending time looking for another guild.

Previous Guilds:

Team XVI - Fell Appart after Highmaul

Kamiwobo - RL raged for pugging mythic bosses, and killing archimond during raid break, even tho he said it was ok when we asked before the holiday break

Endless - Unable to put in required time for mythic raiding

Exodia - Fell Apart after Nighthold

The Royal Army - Just came back from a few months break and the guild is currently rebuilding and since most of the decent players left, i feel like looking for better options myself.

Availability:

Now that im back to uni, i have a lot of free time. Can be occupied during the weekends (Partying a lot, its uni after all)

Communication:

Would say i speak english quite fluid.

And yes do use headset and mic

Computer / Connection:

1070TI, 3770k, 16GRam and 1T SSD so no super long load times.

Also sitting on a 100/100 connection that is very stable.

Addons/UI:

Using Basic ELVUI and some custom Weakauras that ive made for myself (most of them are sound based, as i play with the ingame sound off).

Trying to avoid visual and auditory noise so i can focus on the raid encouter and its mechanics.

Other Games:

Play lol, Overwatch, BnS, BDO and BF1 sometimes with friends

Why Iron Edge?

Looking to get into some progress raiding again. Not sure how much i want to dedicate myself to raiding, now that ive been "fairly casual" so starting BFA with a 2 day raid schedule would be optimal.

What can I offer Iron Edge?

Consistent good preformance.
As a person im always looking to improve myself ingame and outside of the game.

Not afraid to do mechanics, often volunteer myself

Good insight in logs, during my raid-days in WoD  i was helping the RL with logs and how to read them during progress.

Good Attitude, never rage.

Where did I hear about Iron Edge?

Looked for 2 days raiding guilds on wowprogress and on the server kazzak with good progression

Last Words?

Even tho i dont have the most experience as lock, just been playing it quite casually up to legion i ask you to give me a chance.

Had the same issue where most guilds declined my DK when looking for a guild to progress TOS, and then later trying to poach me when they saw during progress that i preform very well. This means i put out very good DPS numbers, while duing mechanics and consistently beeing one of the persons with the least dmg taken.

Also rerolled to WW right before HFC and feel like preformed decent on it regardless. So i feel like im able to pick up new classes and learn them rather fast.

And if you absolutely do not need Warlock at this time, i am willing to raid on DK or WW for the first tier as long as im allowed to try raiding lock once a spot for ranged dps opens up =)

Saw that there was no place in this application where you asked for logs but since ive played many diffrent classes and dont have the most experience lately ive feel like it would help my case to include some.

HFC Logs - Seems like some of them are not public anymore.

EM - Bad leggo and almost no AP =(

NH

Antorus - Hard to use logs from this prepatch as most of my toons are undergeard and there is no ilevel bracket% anymore

Hello Nikolai, im very glad to see a fellow Norwegian apply! We’ve had a problem with some filthy danes filling up the roster lately. Good luck on the application and in the summer heat of Norway!

Hi Nikolai,

Having dealt with a Norwegian caster dps before. I need to ask one thing, if you get rng lucky do you make sure whenever anyone logs on you link said lucky item countless times in chat or just play it cool?

Other than that very nice application, you've supplied logs too without prompt, I'm sure our Norwegian ranged officer Moon will come back to you with any burning questions.

Good luck on the apply.
