Title: connection issues
Post by: Lycanus on September 05, 2015, 03:48:43 pm
Maybe u guys can help me explain to the sky fibre why they are idiots, so i phoned about my connection, basically why it keeps dropping is because the lease renewal on the ip? is being declined so it says i still have internet connection but its failing to renew the connection so i have to reset the routers connection for something it should do automatically.

if i log into the router and go to connection settings and click disocnect then reconect it comes back up instantly.

The operator had no idea what the fuck this is lol and when she asked a colleague he said he thinks its because i use to much upload and my line cant handle it (i have 9mb upload) but all i do is play wow and use ts and i dont upload anything, so this is obviously bullshit anyone have any idea if using a different router not supplied by sky will fix the lease renewal issue? or is it a fault that is on there end that getting a new router wont fix. because they have supplied a new router of theirs free of charge and it does exactly the same thing.

Having looked at your issues this seems the most helpful option

http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18479728 the link within that forum isnt working so id assumne you to search for the previous firmware version.

Is other threads ive found that say the same but no solutions.

okay so basically it could be router firmware, so im just gonna buy an alternate router like rod said , use wireshark to rip my username and password and use that. if i still get this problem then bascialyl im fucked -.- and im just gonna buy a 2ndary dsl line.

Either that or some bastard in paignton is getting fibre internet from you for free, as you've probs tried all that also check your channel iirc sky prefers channel 6 or 7
