Well, it's 'available' for both systems by now...

So far plays like the first (as to be expected). Great character design/facial animations (like in the first one). Crappy minigames to hack stuff (like in the first one!).

I like the dialogue system that lets you choose your next option already while the NPC finishes his last sentence. Queues it up so the dialogues are fluent with no artificial "wait let me check my options first" breaks. Like in the first one! (orly)

The start of the story feels very rushed. Can't tell here due to spoilers, but the way you get thrown right into your new job/position/role and how everyone/old friends just accept that is very... implausible and Bioware-unlike.

Should I get this for PC or Xbox360? Anybody know the cons/perks of either?

If you have ME1, you can import your character (history and looks) on that platform. Apparently has some story pickups, thou I guess it's not really that important.

Otherwise I read PC looks slightly better due to higher res, but Xbox360 interface is said to be more direct. AFAIK PC version does not support Xbox controller but has it's own interface. Faster loading time on PC, but the XBox ones don't annoy me much.

Have both but didn't install PC version yet.

Yeah, menu system on PC is a bit shit (as always).

You gotta select menu options, then click 'OK' at the bottom -- no double click for some reason? (WHY WHY WHY?)

PC's pretty smooth so far tho'. But you can't take your hand off the mouse, in case you miss the renegade/paragon options :)

You know, I'm starting to think ME1 was the superior game.  There are a tons of bugs and 'common sense' things that aren't there.  E.g. As Dell said, you can't double click things in menus to navigate, you have to click an option and then click the 'i choose you' button at the bottom.  To say the least, it's a game that could benefit greatly from a patch or two (shock horror.)  Not something I'd expect from Bioware :/

The combat, while fun, is a little off as well.  Almost all encounters consist of 'spawn 3-5 mobs, when some of them are dead, spawn the next wave of identical mobs - repeat 7 times'.  This kinda kills the flow of the game, when you're stuck in 1 area for 5-10 minutes killing the same enemies 10 times.  The 'out of combat' detection is a little crap as well.  Once you've defeated your 19 waves of mobs, if there is another set of waves around the corner, 9 times out of 10 you can't save (or have your team mates revive) until you've killed that lot as well, even though you're clearly not engaged in combat.  The pathing of enemies is also pretty crappy.

Whoever suggested the 'run button is also the cover button' idea NEEDS TO BE SHOT.

Don't get me started on planet scanning, such a fucking hassle.  When the maximum number of probes u can carry is 30 and 90% of planets have over 30 mineral deposits to scan, it can be a real bother flying back to a whole other star system to stock up on them.  Bring back the Mako I say!

Not to be totally negative, though, it is a very good game overall.  The story, or what I've seen so far of it, is pretty interesting.  The writing, voice acting and animation in the game are superb.  The new star system (not solar system, Bison!) and star cluster navigation is pretty awesome.

Yeah, screw the planet scanning and it's designer.
But why do you shoot 30 probes on a single planet - I maybe do 5-12 depening on the type. That's already boring enough but yields me enough resources. Btw there's a ship upgrade that lets you have 60 probes.

But ditch the Mako, wtf that was the worst in ME1. The Mako and the stupid side-missions on the planets that all ended up in one of the prefab 'houses'.

But the mako was lots of fun!

Just found that probe upgrade, too.  60 is still shit.  Give 600!

Some of the bugs are quite fun, i've climbed up a few walls by accident then cant get back down, also had flying companions. Gotta say the probe thing is a pain in the ass.
Also the run button while also being used to 'cover' its also annoying when running passed friendlies that you can talk to and you want to run, you start talking to them :(

Completed the main storyline on normal, gave me the choice to use that characters weapons, level.. etc and start a new game. Now playing on Hardcore.

End game collector stuff is very good, nice to see how previous choices affect what happens at the end.
