Since we have some bright minds in the guild, using the forum for help have actually been of great help!
And I am in need for some help, so here goes:
"
Let a > 0 be a real number
Show that the equation x = cos(ax) has a solution in the interval [0 , pi/2a].
(remember to name the mathematical theorem) <- (?)
"
I have some silly solutions that involve giving "a" a value, and then using the ..cutting theorem?
But I don't think that's good enough.
Any other ideas?

Does http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intermediate_value_theorem help? I think it might :\.
