Database tweaks

I've just rolled out a new version of MySQL (the database server that runs this forum).

I have no idea if I've done it correctly, so keep an eye out for any oddities.

If it all goes wrong, we'll just revert to the old version -- but we'll lose any posts made between now and when/if we revert.
