This fight from Hellsing i also fucking adore. Problem is there are a LOT of awsome scenes in this anime but this one stuck out a lot for me.

then you get to episode 6 , and shit gets real!

holy shit! Abyss the Legato encounter is my fav scene from Trigun too

And you're fooled for 5 episodes thinking Vash is a goof, and just really lucky... then they drop this bomb on you... DUrr durr durr DuUUUuuurr dur dur! Legato you are so evil!

I had never seen the eva rebuild...

I really dislike that scene there in the rebuild version. All flashy lights, lasers, halo and energy arm (seriously what the heck?), more melodramatic lines (all acting aside)....

What made that scene in the original great was that it was a lot more simple horrible brutality, in a scenario where normally everything is clean and 'nice' with giant robots fighting giant enemies, suddenly you have this character that's meant to be the heroic thing defending people suddenly behaving like some animal, viciously murdering the opponent, then ripping it to bits and eating it with its bare hands. That rebuild scene is all kinds of weak.

Not to mention that withoout the plates popping off like that we miss out on the following iconic 'nightmare fuel' image
which really drove the whole thing home.

NO i totally agree, the way the eva moves after going berzerk is much more primative and animistic.

and the shot (see attached), sells the horror. After digesting the angle, looking straight at the audience like "your next!", and there is nothing going to stop me. Not Shinji, not Nerv, not even an Angle.

fucking ace.

But the rebuild are definetly worth watching, if your new to Eva or and old fan, you will love them so much. Not only is the animation one of the most accoplished and impressive 2D spesimin to date, it also is a true homage to the origanal with some updated tweaks.

I highly recomend watching 2.0 and 2.02 they are amazing.

Abyss you such a dpz fan and yet i haven't linked this.

This is a tad bit long for this thread though i think you will appreciate it. Also dispite Buu being my fav char THIS was the best fight in that entire show imo. I managed to find the one were Vegeta still had his awsome evil voice before they changed voice actors. I love how the fight actually gets better and better the more damaged they both become.
