Well fuck, you know what I just realised...

When you gave those scenes there, with the titles I'm thinking, heck, I've seen these... so cracked out my videos folder and so on... sure enough... click through the seeking bar... "ahahaha... I remember now!". Watched 1.11 and 2.22, but feel asleep it seems towards the end of 2.22. Watched it now though :]

Compared the the rest of the two new films vs their original stuff, on a scene-by-scene basis, that and the result of it are pretty huge departures. Gotta say though, along with the whole asuka with a different family name, and the brand new character and other key alterations to storyline that didn't affect the actual scenes so much (e.g. who was piloting unit 3 was different, but scene plays out pretty much identically), wish the third and fourth films'd arrive sooner rather than later, but I think it's gonna be years before we find out what's actually going on wiht the plot changes and what it means to the series as a whole.

Absolutely with you on the animation quality though, it sure is eyeporn.

He's getting eaten by wolves while laughing, now I bet you're wondering why this splendid motherfucker isn't doing anything about it, even though he seems like a goddamn badass, well you see he just lost a samurai fight 3v1 and is currently bleeding to death, missing one arm and 2 legs. The only arm he has left is half his arm that got chopped off in an earlier fight, which he continued to use as a weapon by CARVING OFF THE FUCKING FLESH ON HIS OWN DAMN ARM AND THEN CARVING THE BONE INTO A GOD. DAMN. WEAPON.
