Title: Age ol' Mod chat
Post by: Myogoblin on February 20, 2008, 11:45:26 am
All,

During my extended absence and a little itch that may well bring me back whats the current state of the WoW GUI and mods? I am sure things are changed/blocked/improved but for all I know you guys stopped using things like CT Raid months ago because of xyz reasons.

I did plan ahead to a degree and screenshotted all my bindings though (yay me)

ctraid is still being used.

ktm is replaced by Omen, but can still be used.

besides that I still use bartender, itemrack and xperl

Bartender is easily the bar mod of choice now, with the great advantage that it doesn't actually affect the current bars in the default UI, so if you switch back to them or log in with a different computer you'll at least have the same bindings for the same abilities.

Omen for threat, no reason to use KTM now.

Itemrack hasn't been updated in ages, though thankfully the beta version 2 still works without error.

Some folks still use CTRA out of being so used to it. Grid seems a little superior to my untrained eyes though, on features and customisability.

For unitframes ag_unitframes is a nice option. Looks good, compact, neat, tidy, does the job. Also reasonably changeable if you want to, but works well, "out of the box".

As Kawe said Bartender3 (http://files.wowace.com/Bartender3/Bartender3-r61906.zip) is teh win when it comes to bars, u can enhance its pimpness with cyCircled (http://files.wowace.com/cyCircled/cyCircled-r58877.3.zip). When it comes to Omen (http://files.wowace.com/Omen/Omen-r61752.8.zip) and Threat library (http://files.wowace.com/Threat-1.0/Threat-1.0-r61753.8.zip) they are a real pain since updates come every 24 hours or so. CTRaidAssist (http://ctmod.net/download/11/) has its own site but as Kawe said its quite old... Same goes for ItemRack (http://wow.curse.com/downloads/details/1482/). If u need anything else just ask. Get online already, slacker!

Omen is updated quite frequently which I really appreciate, and yes it's a pain to update "manually". That's why god invented http://wowace.com/wiki/WowAceUpdater

Takes around 20 seconds to update all your ace2 mods with this, just run it before you start WoW.

cheers for all these! I really like bartender3, been setting it up a treat.

I'll try and avoid anything i don't really use but SCT still seems to rock :D
