List 2 of your most favourite TV serie's!

Mine would be NCIS and Prisonbreak although Two and A Half Men, Friends and Spin City would be pretty close

I think Ill cheat a bit.

Best tv-series ever Twin Peaks.

Best comedy series Friends.

Best sci-fi Farscape (Yes I know its filled with puppets but it was great!)

Best action series Alias.

Best currently running series Californication ( By far ).

I am currently following: Heroes,Californication,Dexter,Stargate atlantis,Tell me you love me and a few more I cant remember since they are on a season break :P .

I'd have to go with Heroes and Dexter.  But, honourable mention to House, Battlestar Galactica and Twin Peaks.

Favourite comedy cartoon shows (u can't really put these in the same category as other shows) would be Futurama and South Park.  Family Guy, American Dad and Simpsons in the runner up positions.
Title: Re: Favourite TV-serie
Post by: Starbrow on December 08, 2007, 11:15:15 pm
I utterly love Futurama and Southpark for funny shit. I don't "follow" them as such.

Heroes is my absolute favourite though as it just really fits my interests. I think I'd like to get into watching more series, but going through one/two seasons to get up to date with what's being released now just seems a bit overwhelming. Also, I know from experience that if you see a whole series of almost anything in one huge go, it becomes shit and boring, as you need a break every few episodes...
Title: Re: Favourite TV-serie
Post by: Gaeios(Graxlos) on December 08, 2007, 11:17:41 pm
You are wrong :)
I can watch 10 seasons in a row and still want more :D
Did it with stargate sg1 saw first 9 seasons in a month or so :P

I constantly had an episode running on my secondary monitor while lvling ipal :)

Best sci-fi Farscape (Yes I know its filled with puppets but it was great!)
even though i never realy followed the serie that much the episodes i did see were abosutely awesome

and i also like futurama hope the new movie they are producing will be good
oh and then there is south park even though ive seen all the episodes of season 5-9 about a dozen times each i still laugh at the jokes in most of em there a couple i dont like for example the one where jimmy constantly has a erect penis is one of my least favorite though i did like the bit where jimmy asked cartman for advice on picking up girls

oh two and a half man are just absolutely awesome to

oh and then there is this older x-men cartoon which is one of the best in terms of voice acting

lets not forget about battlestar galactica (the new one) i quite like that one to  why? well i think cause its not like most sci-fi where the actions in 1 episode never comes back and bite there asses in another episode

the best mini serie for me would be Band of Brothers without question
Title: Re: Favourite TV-serie

I spend too much time watching tv-series when I should be working, and I love WAY too many of them.
And I simply can't choose, so I'll just mention some of my favorite ones: Heroes, Battlestar Galactica, Veronica Mars (it IS awesome!), Dexter, Buffy (hey, it's a nostalgia thing, alright?) aaand so many others but my brain stopped working.  :D
And for fear of being laughed at for the duration of 2007 AND 2008 I'm not even going to mention the girly shows I love and adore.

Hm, my favorite TV-serie ever must be The Simpsons, cant get enough of it. :P But I also watch alot of others, such as Two and a Half Men, Friends(Old ones, I think O_o), That 70's Show, King of Queens, and of course, Scrubs! Other than that I kinda watch whatevers on the Telly. :P Trying to get every Top Gear episode thats on TV. :D

Dexter, Heroes and I enjoy Lost too.

At the moment I'm watching Californication. Much nudity for a series but I just like the actor. It's Muller from x-files and that makes it decent enough. Too early for me to say if it's good or not yet though. I have a hard time sticking to a series and I usually have to watch a season in order to actually even like a series. :)
Title: Re: Favourite TV-serie
Post by: Inphy on January 23, 2008, 11:17:02 pm
My top 2 favourites would be Heroes and The 4400.

And thank god there's comedy central, I just love all the shows on it. Except 'the vivian vile show', because it's just awfull.

Battlestar galactica and Veronica Mars. Finally someone knows Veronica mars and agrees it is really good. Weeds and Lost was good too but I never met with someone who watched Weeds and liked it.

One thing that always bothered me about series is that I can't be arsed and tied to TV on XY evening to watch them. Thats why I loved X-files, every episode is a story for it self and mainly unrelated to each other. There is a whole bunch of comedy series that are quite good and I can watch them over and over again: Only fools and horses, Dr. Freiser, Man behaving Badly, Alo alo and so on.
I must agree about Twin Peaks with you guys, it was one of my favs back in days. Its damn good really.

Yeah, they made 3 seasons and were already planning the 4th one, but they cancelled it and Kirsten Bell (Veronica Mars in the show) is now playing in Heroes  >:(

I'm watching too much stuff at the moment: NCIS, Criminal Minds, That 70's Show, Californication and some dutch shows (season breaks for Prison Break, Heroes & Lost at the moment)

One of the best parts from That 70's Show I've seen in a while, made me laugh real hard  ;D

hmm I should try watching kingdom hospital, its a remake of a danish awardwinning tvseries called "riget" = the kingdom. the nickname for denmarks biggest hospital in copenhagen.

The danish version was very good and quite weird and scary.

Title: Re: Favourite TV-serie
Post by: Gaeios(Graxlos) on October 22, 2008, 09:17:55 am
Just wanted to remind you guys that a new bunch of series started a few weeks ago.

Fringe: pretty good, a weird comedy-ish x-files thingie, but very gory at times.

Sanctuary: pretty fail execution but an ok idea. Amanda Tapping is the main star of the show (Sam Carter from SG1). Sadly she is speaking "british" english now in an american show which seems very annoying when you have seen her speaking  american english for 11 years.

Knight Rider: A new version of the old series with David Hasselhoff about a secret agent and his Gadget car with AI.
I know that some people like it, but I find it utterly retarded, the cast is so shit. With a proper director and "ok" actors I guess it could have been good, I think the idea is fun.

Title: Re: Favourite TV-serie
Post by: Inphy on October 22, 2008, 10:12:18 am
I totally agree with you there palmar. Knight Rider is total shit, the graphics, the cast, the new 'story', it's all shit.

I should take a look at Fringe though, looks quite entertaining.

I gave up on Prison Break, i'll wait for the end of the season, and download them all at the same time I geuss.

Fringe was pretty good, yeah!

I watched Sanctuary, thought it was pretty shit. Turns out the whole show is done on a green screen... like... 99% of it.

One of the girls was cute though... But I watch so much shit already, I couldn't add it to the list.

Well I have to say that my favourite TV series has to be 'Dog the Bounty Hunter'. Yeah its cheesy I know, but like your illustrious leader I spent some time in America from Wyoming to the islands of Hawaii and I had the very great honour of meeting the Chapman family, and what you see on TV only scratches the surface - I've never been able to say that I've met truly good people before, but these are serious good people, so much so that they made me cry.

Its about a guy 'Dog' Chapman and his family who are all bail bondsmen. The cameras follow them in their hunt for people skipping bail or court appearances etc. They're the strangest looking people, he looks like an all in wrestler and his wife looks like a little barbie doll with the BIGGEST boobs I've ever seen! Its must-see TV and I'm totally in love with them.

Beside those 3, there are many series I enjoyed like: Dexter, Farscape, Supernatural, How I met your mother, Scrubs, Prison Break and Heroes up the 2nd season both, IT crowd,..

oh and last night i saw "FlashForward" pilot and its great, looking forward to the rest of season.

Doctor Who! I'd expect more of you brits to mention it...

Other series that I follow would be Fringe and Big Bang Theory. I occasionally watch South Park and Family Guy when friends remind me or a word goes around that an episode has been full of win.

You guys should all look up 'Treme' (pronounced Treh-may).

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Treme_(TV_series)

If you loved The Wire, you'll love Treme. I'm almost through the first season and it's just so FUN -- the dialogue, the characters, both as good as The Wire, but it's more FUN.

It also has a few actors from The Wire! (And some from other HBO shows, of course.)

And it's been renewed for a second season! Hooray.

Superawesome. Semi-loser Joe Average chemistry teacher gets lung cancer and wants to secure some money for his family before dying. Thus, by chance he teams up with a former student of his (drug loser) and starts cooking & selling crystal meth. Then things turn bad. And worse.

Season one is pretty harsh, both violence and cancer wise. Season two has a little too many family issue episodes at the end. Season 3 rocks the boat. Don't bother watching the pointless "season 0 webisodes".

It's awesome because it has both very drastic, harsh scenes combined with sick dark humour. Also, ongoing story, good scripts, good characters and cast.

Yeah..! Give S04 soon imo!

Gotta say that I like the new Sky show called "An Idiot Abroad".

Ricky and Steve sends Karl Pilkington to see the world's seven wonders. He's not travelled and would rather stay at home where things are safe and "not weird". Pretty much humour where the guy doesn't know he's hillarious.

Loved Spartacus! You just need to uhm, not expect anything more then choppy slash serie with loads of good quality boobies.

Recently i found new serie that kinda rocked me out, title is Terriers, it's about 2 private investigators that well do their job. I dont remember if i ever had so many laught's while watching a serie, so strongly recommending. I cant really find words to describe this serie in better way, so just take a glance at official site and you should get a clue how its made :) http://www.fxnetworks.com/shows/originals/terriers/

Also The Walking Dead got its premiere recently, good serie, hope for atleast 2-3 season's of good stuff.

She is hot indeed. And her mother in the last episode!!! (In Turkish there is a phrase called 'Anasina bak kizini al demisler', which means (in my word of translating) observe (or see) her mother (if she is beautiful) and then get her daughter (either u marry her, or ask her to be ur gf whatever).

Damn! 10 pages and no one mentioned "The Wire"?

Has anyone seen it?
I would attempt to explain what it is like, but if anyone knows how cynical Charlie Brooker is, then you'll know it's a big deal when he gives it praise. And oh how he does!
He constantly talked about it in his show screenwipe on BBC3 a few years ago, and since then made a whole episode literally dedicated to it. Here's a part of it where he explains it:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tz99jZRqZwA (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tz99jZRqZwA)

I've seen lost, prison break, sopranos, generation kill (made by the same people as the wire), and the wire hands down fucks those series lol.

it is so good it has ruined my tv watching, i cant watch other tv series now because all of them just seem tacky lol (except south park) xD

I know what you mean delling, it took me like 2-3 episodes to grasp the baltimore ghetto rhetoric but it's definitely worth it!

Yeah Treme is made by the same people as the wire.
they made the wire, then generation kill, then treme - but I haven't properly watched treme yet although i plan to.

As for random cameo appearances from people in the wire... the funniest i've found is this:
