After enjoying the epic RPS article on Netptue's Prime I got reading another one about a different game http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/tag/gameboys-from-hell/ (http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/tag/gameboys-from-hell/)
It looks like lots of fun to me. Here is a link to a demo version http://sidemo.s3.amazonaws.com/SIDemo.exe (http://sidemo.s3.amazonaws.com/SIDemo.exe). Here is the Wiki http://si.battlespot.com/wiki/Main_Page (http://si.battlespot.com/wiki/Main_Page)

As I am feeling full of Christmas cheer I think I'll buy 6 copies of this game for IE. Let me know if you are interested in playing a game. The grand draw will happen on Christmas Eve :)
-
How much time is needed for the game?
-
Players email turns to each other in order. It takes ~60 turns for a normal game.

Wow, this looks insanely complicated.

My Armies of succubi shall Kill plunder and rape their way through hell!

How I understand SI so far. The aim of the game is to get the most prestige points.
The three main ways to gain prestige (there are many others) are
a) hold places of power on the hex map
b) demand stuff from / insult other players.
c) win vendettas started by refusing the demands or insults from other players
With vendettas the player making a refused demand gets to choose the terms of the fight, with insults the insulted player gets to choose. To insult a player means you think you can beat him at everything. Making a demand means you think there is a specific thing you can beat a player at.
There are 4 main ways to build your character
1) Wrath: good for fighting with legions and capturing places of power
2) Deceit: good for stealing stuff, at high levels you can steal virtually anything
3) Prophecy: gaining information on players and buffing yourself
4) Destruction: blasting people with magic from afar
The fifth attribute, Charisma, is useful for all of the above builds as it increases your income.
You only have very limited orders each turn. You start with 2. This means for one turn you can only, say, move a legion and buy an item. As you gain levels you can gain order slots, so do 3 or 4 orders per turn.
There are 4 types of currency cards, different spells/items take different combinations. Income is mainly gained by using an order slot to demand tribute (from your minions). You can also demand it from other players or steal it.
Your rank Prince/Duke/Marquis/Baron/Lord affects your interaction with other players. Higher ranks get more quicker than lower ranks.

sound rly fun, will take some getting into tho
-
i just tryed the demo and nt too impressed.
neptunes pride seems better, even tho it alot simpler

I'm bumping this as I really want to get a game going. This one being turn based will have some advantages over NP.
-
Still game for this!
-
I can give this a go.
I still like NP, though. I just think we need to tweak the settings a bit.
-
waiting patiently for this to start
-
I agree about NP dell, I think I just need a break for now. Much smaller map next time...
So we have me, kawe, cwave, dell and probably bison for SI. Who wants the last spot? I'll set it up on Saturday (even if it is just for us 5).

I'm in! :)
