Title: Stardust

Amazing film!  Awesome storyline, well acted, etc.  Plus Claire Danes is totally hot.  Reminds me a bit too much of Gwyneth Paltrow, though...  Michelle Pfeiffer isn't looking too bad for a 49 year old, either!

Well deserving of a 9/10.

I wanted to post about this movie a couple of days ago but work kept me from it heh.

I totally agree with you TTaM. Amazing movie that contains everything you want in adventure! It has adventure (doh), love, action, mystery, good story, good acting, beautiful scenery/environment, humor etc etc. And hot chicks! ;D

Claire Danes is sooo much hotter now than in Romeo and Juliette ^^

Edit: Personally I also really like it as it is a mix of the real world and a fantasy world that exists right next to the real world. I contrast of movies like LoTR, Stardust gives you the feeling that all of this magic world *could* actually exist right around the corner, if you only knew how to find it. Lovely!

Indeed!  And it was done SO much better than Pan's Labyrinth.  SO SO much better.  Pan's, to me, felt like the 2 halves of the story were almost completely unconnected.  Here they are totally intertwined.

Such a nice fairy tale :)

The kind of movie that leaves you in a very good mood.

And yes Claire Danes is adorable, she really does adorable well :P

Hehe, Stardust was really fun.

It's nothing like the book - but that's not a bad thing... they added some more drama, and Robert De Niro (who was pretty awesome!), and it turned into a lovely little fantasy/family/fun film.

For the guys in the UK it was really cool to see chase sequences actually on the British Isles.

Quite nice to see something fantastical on the Isle of Skye, rather than New Zealand :)

Read the book by the way - it's a nice read.

I agree that it was better than Pan's. That movie should've been two different movies. One about the crazy General and one about a girl and her fantasy. I liked it, but the improvements were obvious.

Expectations are high on The Golden Compass :)

I loved Pan's Labyrinth!  :o

However, I did like this one too. A lot! It's excellently made and with great humour. I went in expecting a serious movie along the lines of Pan's Labyrinth and I got some sort of British, fantasy, humour bomb :P .

In the start I feared that it would be a bit over the top, but they managed to keep it on a decent level. I loved the goat and that cute little red headed girl (who was really a boy) x) .

Needs more boobs I guess to make you appreciate it.

Considering a huge amount of people have nominated this as one of their favourite films of recent years, you should probably try and improve your taste/appreciation a little :)

I can honestly say that people who nominated this as their favourite movie are either a 12y/o or a complete retards with no sense of a good movie. And just because Robert De Niro acted in this one doesn't mean it is good.

I'm not twelve, and sort of hope I'm not a complete retard (shut up, Karjalin&Vorte), but I adore this movie.
Granted, I got the illustrated book when I was 15/16 or so, and that might account for some of my love, but I genuinely felt it was a cool movie.
 :D

This was way too cute for me. Even De Niro is cute! WTF? I'm tired of noobs becoming heroes and kings. Why can't it just be OK to be a noob? Like in Juno :).

SPOILER

It's pretty damn awesome when he has sex with claire danes and the first thing he does in the morning is to go home to mock his old love and that bully. Like: HAHA  FUCK YOU GUYS. I HAD SEX AND LEARNED HOW TO WIELD A SWORD. My kind of hero. At least he has a dark side but they didn't explore it anymore. Too bad.

4/10
