Raider Application - Rogue (DPS) - Geneocde
« on: September 07, 2020, 11:00:51 pm »
Hello, Iron Edge!

I am applying for the main raid.

Character: Geneocde
Armory: https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-gb/character/eu/Kazzak/Geneocde
Class/Spec: Rogue (DPS)
Member Type: Raider

Personal Info:

Hi, my name is Gene, I'm 30 and live in England with my wife and 2 pets.

Class/Spec:

I'll play what ever rogue spec is best performing at a give time or task. Even if it means I have to roll the bones :( My favourite spec is assassination but I am keen to try out the new subtlety in Shadowlands if it is still performing well enough.

Currently the best stats for outlaw is crit/vers. Depending on what content you are specialising in, your corruptions will differ. For flat dps increase, severe and strikethrough is the way, switching to versatiles when you reach a certain mythic+ level(approx. 25).
For Assassination, its much the same for cleave as outlaw in mythic+(crit stacking because energy generation isn't really a problem in m+). For single target you want as much haste as possible, eventually switching talents into Exsanguinate and crimson tempest once you hit a certain threshold of haste. Also goes great with around 34% crit.
I always sim to find out what the best gear/talents are seeing as the stat weights are so balanced atm.

Alts:

I always like to have a geared druid at my disposal to tank/heal alt content. I've raided quite a lot as healer in the past and have always enjoyed it.

Professions:

I run Engineering for combat res and alchemy for 2hr flasks, gather herbs on druid alt to be self sufficient.

Raiding Experience:

I have raid experience from every expansion to some degree, things like undying naxx in wotlk, os3 drakes, some ulduar hard modes, Throne of Thunder mythic 10man as rogue/prot paladin, but nothing "cutting edge" till legion.
For CE emerald nightmare I was maining MW monk, later switching to druid due to the guilds needs.
Since then I've raided heroic with the occasional mythic boss while focusing on other games like CSGO and Black Desert online.

Previous Guilds:

Outside of social guilds with my friends, the last developed guild I was in was Nerve-Ravencrest Alliance during legion. The guild broke up during Mythic Helya due to some people wanting to commit more than 3/4 days to raiding and some not. I decided to be in the "not" group as I wasn't really a fan of the aggressive raid leading style and didn't want to commit more time to a relatively toxic atmosphere.
After leaving Nerve, A friend and I looked around for another like minded guild on our realm and couldn't really find a suit from a relatively small pool of guilds. We decided to take a break from Legion and maw of souls grinding to play other games such as Black Desert Online (BIG oof).
We played a little more later into legion but only casualy, a bit of shittier m+.
When BFA was announced, we decided to leave our Alliance characters behind and head to Kazzak-horde to broaden our horizons. During the prepatch we aligned our selves with an "up and coming" new guild. High hopes into uldir, low results.... The guild wasnt as strict as I would have liked, and people were slacking on consumables and such. So after talking it through, we came up with the idea to focus on M+ instead. Eventually after struggling with the lack of Raider.io, m+ fizzled out so we went back to that terrible, terrible mmo BLACK DESERT.

Availability:

I'm always available. ALWAYS!

Communication:

I am English, so my English isn't so great. But I can do all of the above :)

Computer / Connection:

I recently treated myself with a fancy new PC for my 30th Birthday. My net is 300up300down, and hasn't disconnected in 5-6 months. "touch wood"

Addons/UI:

https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/579485710135066634/752621275817443458/unknown.png
12 buttons on the bottom right are Mmo-mousebuttons.
UI in action: https://streamable.com/mwb01y "sound alert, You can hear my ability to mash buttons"
I like to clip any deaths to rewatch and learn from them. And also laugh.

Other Games:

I have 3k hours in CSGO, Enoying online tournaments and such.
2.7k hours on PoE. Huge diablo 2 fan from my youth.

I'm always happy to try new games! I always like to have a side game to unwind after a long evening of mythic+ / raiding.

Why Iron Edge?

Initially I am looking for a guild that can perform well on a limited time investment, and also has room for both me and my buddy. Then after browsing Wowprogress, I like to look at clips of the kills to see what the atmosphere is like(pre-kill) to avoid applying to another guild that has a shitty raid environment.

This clip/time above being what motivated me to seek further information.
Mainly I'm desperate to experience a guild of like minded people that want to progress whilst still having fun. It shouldn't be as hard as it has been :D

What can I offer Iron Edge?

I can offer dedication and "try-hardiness" while remaining chill and always looking to make improvements. I like to have a laugh while raiding but not enough to have it get in the way of progress. My schedule is SUPER flexible and I am always available when needed.
Outside of raids I'm always looking to do extra wow content, or play other games with the bois.

Where did I hear about Iron Edge?

Wowprogress

Last Words?

I'm aware that I may not have the strongest end game raiding experience, but I've always played games at a high level and always strive to be the best I can be.

I'm always down to chat about anything in the above and hope that these small amount of words can convey my intent and ability.

Catch me on the IE discord @Gene if you have any questions

Hey Gene,
Thanks for applying. I can see you're eagerly awaiting a response so i'll not keep you waiting too much longer. I just need to take a bit more time to consider the application because of some of the changes to the roster going into the new expansion so i'll come back to you with a decision by tomorrow evening.

No worries, my friends application was unsuccessful so i'm gonna have to pass on any possible opportunity. Finding 2 separate guilds where the days line up is extremely difficult given the limited amount of "good" 2 day guilds around.
We intend to push m+ on all of our off days so really needed them to line up.

Thanks for your time anyway! Maybe our paths will cross again further into the expansion when we have a better example of our ability.

Cheers!
