Hunter - Noizey - B-Raid
« on: June 02, 2009, 02:15:45 am »
Position Applying For:

B-Raid Raider.

Personal Information:

Hey, my name's Raouf. I'm 19 and living in Manchester, England, United Kingdom. I'm a student currently studying a Computer Science degree and have just finished my first year at University. In WoW I'm known as Noizey and I currently play a Survival Hunter. Outside of WoW I enjoy socialising with my friends from University and were I live. I enjoy mixing it up a bit and playing a few other games with friends when I'm not playing WoW.

PC Information:

3.0+ GHz Quad Core
4 GB RAM
1 GB Graphics Card

Character Information:

In WoW I play an Orc Hunter specced Survival at the moment.

Here's a link to my Armory - http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Wildhammer&n=Noizey

I enjoy playing the survival spec in raids. I enjoy the play style of this spec, the good damage output and also providing the utility of replenishment in a raid is always an added bonus. I use the Wolf or Raptor pet in raids, the standard priority survival dps cycle and am glyphed accordingly to my spec. I'm also avidly read around my spec and stay on top of what is the best pve and pvp wise for my class. I am available to respec Marksmanship if the additional attack power buff is needed in raids and can even respec Beast Mastery if required.

I've leveled Skinning and Mining on my hunter for additional critical strike rating and stamina, but have also leveled my cooking and fishing skills for raid preperations.

Raiding Times:

I am a very active player and play WoW a lot more than other games I have. But I do like to mix it up a bit and play other games from time to time. I'll be available to play anyday at any time unless an emergency comes up or something along those lines. This is also a cross server application and I'll be available to transfer immediately. The reason for my flexible times is the because my first year of uni is over.

Specific Times:

Monday: Whenever required
Tuesday: Whenever required
Wednesday: Whenever required
Thursday: Whenever required
Friday: Whenever required
Saturday: Whenever required
Sunday: Whenever required

Gaming History:

I first started gaming at a very young age. I've always had an interest in computers and the first game I purchased was Starcraft. Since then I have always loved the games Blizzard have produced and have played Diablo 1 & 2, Warcraft 1-3 and of course WoW. I have also played a lot of other multi-player games such as Counter-Strike 1.6, Counter Strike: Source, the Half-Life Anthology and most games built around the source engine. I also enjoy console gaming and playing games like Halo 3, Grand Theft Auto, Rock Band, Guitar Hero etc. Before WoW I played EvE Online for a few years and a lot of not so successfull mmo's. Until I discovered WoW and immediately enjoyed the game more than any previous mmo I had played. At the moment aside from WoW I play Team Fortress 2 and have started completing Half-Life 2 again.

World Of Warcraft History:

I have been playing WoW for nearly a year now. My Hunter is the first character I leveled to 80 and I enjoyed this class and kept it as my main. I have raiding experience in Naxxaramas 10/25, Malygos 10/25, OS (+2) 10/25, VOA 10/25 and Uludar 10/25. I have also experienced some of the older raids and have been to Onyxia's Lair, Black Wing Lair, Mount Hyjal & Black Temple. I have done a lot of raiding on my hunter and I can pick up tactics fairly quickly and efficiently. I always make sure I know these tactics before the raid well. I come to all raids prepared with potions, food buffs for me and my pet, blue ammo, elixirs and flasks and of course pve spec and gear. I can work well in a team and under pressure in a raid and can adjust to new tactics and responsibilities in a raid as well as admit when I'm wrong.

Why I Want To Join Iron Edge:

Iron-Edge has a reputation for being a really strong guild with a lot of solid, strong raiding members. You guys raid at the highest level and always aim for the best out of the pve WoW experience and I share this ambition. I think that being in a guild like Iron-Edge will bring out the best in me as a player and is the kind of guild I strive to be in because of this. I have a close friend in real life who has been a long term member and he always has great things to say about the guild and has given me the confidence and opportunity to apply. Also I've heard there is a very social and friendly side to the guild when people aren't raiding, it would be nice to be part of a guild with this aspect too.

What Can I Offer To Iron Edge:

I'm an active, social, laid-back and friendly player. I'm always happy to help anyone in the guild when I'm online. I know my class well and can turn up to raids on time and prepared whenever I'm needed. Aside from being a reliable and good raider I'm also a social person and enjoy the social side of WoW as well as playing other games with my friends. I also enjoy doing a bit of cheeky pvp from time to time and ganking allies.

Last Words:

If trialed in Iron-Edge I won't let you guys down. I can show you I am a good player and hopefully I can learn a lot from you guys as I know you have a lot of skilled players. I'll be watching this post closely and am happy to answer any questions you may have. Thanks for reading and the opportunity to apply. :)

For Grilly:

My favourite pokemon is Gyrados. :D
My favourite attacks are Dragon Rage, Hydro Pump, Hyper Beam etc. etc.

Thanks for the good application! The gear is looking pretty sweet, and you chose a pretty good pokemon! He's a pain to evolve, though.. Damn swapping and stuff.

Be aware that we're the lesser-elite B-raid :P While you probably won't find the same ambition levels and achievement-craving, we raid in a friendly environment with steady progress and many laughs!

Can't think of anything else to say at the moment, your application covered most of the stuff we need to know, I think :) Will get back to you mancunians(?) later for conclusions!

In reply to Eyehole - I am a United fan but Barca won, it was a fair match. :P

Good and detailed app Noizey . I've checked your armory profile and it says you got only  108 Hit rating . Isnt it kinda low as most of the hunters are using around 3 times more . Anyway good luck with your application .

Yeah my hit rating is a tad low. I've been unlucky with the drops to be honest. I've stacked my other stats high from the gear I have such as haste (passed the cap), agility and attack power to make up for this and I can still perform good dps in raids, which I can prove if trialed. If my hit rating is the only thing stopping me from getting in here, I'll re-gem and talent for it immediately. Hope this helps.

It really doesn't matter what each individual stat u have is, as long as u do the good dps.  What u might consider is finding a dps calc (im not sure if Rawr works with hunters very well or not) and finding out what actually is your best gear setup, concerning gems and enchants and the like.

I regularly use the elitist jerks hunter spreadsheet and the setup I have at the moment is fairly optimum for my gear and stats, enchants and gems are based on the spreadsheet I use. DPS wise I can perform in a raid.

Have only used it for my mage and pala myself.  Do tell if it's good for hunters, too :)

It takes a bit of configuring.  If u need a hand, gimme a shout.
