Title: Facebook Civ
Post by: Tyler on June 06, 2011, 02:55:00 pm
I tried a second game of this, after not really understanding what the hell was going on in the tutorial game, and things are going better. If anyone wants to pick my brain on how the game works poke me on TS one evening. I'm no expert but I think I get the idea.

I think it might be fun to get a new game with lots of IE people in it. We can then all join the same civ and crush the opposition beneath our jackboots. Emptyy knows what I'm talking about. I do think anyone who wants to join should have a couple of other games first though, just to get a feel for it.

It does kind of annoy me that you can spend up to 40 civ bucks per game (~$3.50) to get a headstart on production or whatever. I guess they have to pay the bills though. I am going to see how well I can do for free. Maybe having an organised team can overcome the money spenders... Or we can make the challenge "how well can we do for nothing?"

Let me know if you are interested, and what evening would be good to start the game. I am free all week except Friday.

I played a bit, but it seemed like a pretty long game? I was only getting a few food per 'harvest', and you only get so many harvests per day? Got population to 3 or something... and then stopped. Guess I could be doing it wrong, tho'.

Liked the culture/science mini-games!

Definitely up for some big game.

Got my population to 3 as well, working my way to 4 in population, everyone is gathering food ^^

There is a wiki here http://wiki.2kgames.com/civworld/index.php/Main_Page.

I got to city size 5 in <12 hours by having 3 orchards and a granary. I have now upgraded the granary to "ginormous" and that made the food numbers pretty big ( >20 per worker i think it was). My plan will be to get to size 8 then specialise to gold/science/culture/production. Whatever my civ needs.

I think the plan in to log in and check your city once or twice per day. There are 21 eras per game. I guess a game will take two weeks or so. It would be nice to 4 of us in a game. Apparently we can earn invites by finishing games, winning an era etc.

I need to wait for another game to become available. I will post when it does.

It would be great to get at least 4 of us together for this. That way we could specialise in production, culture, gold and science respectivley. So far we have me, Delling, Archz. Palmar said he got the invite but refused to play as it looked like farmville. Did anyone else get an invite?

Emptyy knows what I'm talking about.
Nope, I don't know what you're talking about. Is this ala Sid Meyers Civ, melted together with facebook? If it is, someone still needs to explain me how Meyes Civ works.
Kind of sounds like some sort of teamplay-farmville, imo.

Don't count me in :p

So few of us are already playing, so what are we going to do? form our own civ or something?

Could everyone who's in the game say so and their name while at it so I dont have to search for it too hard :)

We could create a civilization for us, there are some available.

I am under OndřejM

A new game is coming soon, would be a lot more fun if more people played.

The strongest civ atm is only 6 people because they work together. (They got closed borders :( )
