Hello , Iron Edge! This is Powergirlx , sum of you may know me already as 'the kage' , 'African' , 'Backstaber' etc. This is an official FnF post. This is in no way , shape or form a raider application. This is purley to be with the people i talk to on the forums/irc/ts.
For sum those who don't know me: I am Sebastian Garside , a 24 year old south african living in england. I work on the weekends and generally have set days for that to leave time for my raiding. That being said i always end up with spare time during the day and end up idling on a lampost or roaming through this forum or Slashcry forum. Since Cataclysm , after securing Kagemoth(my main) with the best i could rep and gear wise i started focussing more on my alts. Powergirlx is a by-product of my wanabe pvp attempt during wrath. Since then it has evolved and become once of my strongest chars.

This char i have used in boosting the Africans on Ravencrest through FL. I have recently moved my Druid over to that server 'cause it's a vastly superior class and will be able to aid that guild better. It does mean i have a free alt paladin though and ,since i have friends in IE , i would like it if i could get a spot in the guild so i may play with them under the same tag.
I don't know if it is really necessary to give a list of sponsers. I'll just use the few from my realID though there are more i'm sure: Anders , Raph , Maarten, Nezzar(though he has gone afk recently)

That's not entirely true though is it. This was only ever discussed with raider applications and makes complete sense in that context.
However...

This has never been discussed on FnF. Why though? i'll tell you why , 'cause noone cares about FnF aslong as they make a decent app and don't be a dick in/outside of guild.

And you don't think it is rather petty to expect the same of a friend in the guild? Sumone who isn't expected to directly contribute anything to the guild. Inviting me will change nothing about your gaming experience in the least. For all i care you could put me on ignore to not see what i am typing(It isn't like certain people haven't put guildies on ignore anyway).

I never once said that Iron Edge wasn't a cool community. Why else would i stay on them :P
IE can't satisfy my other wants though , and those wants isn't what you should even be thinking about in correlation to my app , since i don't want anything but a community spot.

This really has gone on for too long. Kage is cool. He isn't joining to raid, he is joining for the guys that make IE so cool. He is already more active on the forums and irc than most of the F&F members, and well, PvPers and some raiders too, why not let him take part in /g. For those few that are really getting their panties wet over this whole thing and can't move on, just /ignore. Not hard.
IE is a community. Bring a friend back!

The 'one guild' rule was mainly about people hedging their bets, which I hate. Back then, though, IE was a lot more hardcore, and WoW was most of our community.
I think I would be OK with you rejoining the community -- the forum -- but I don't know about in-game.
I still think you are a traitor, and it would take a big leap of faith for me to forgive that.

I dont really see the point with you beeing in /g either if you are off raiding with some other guild most of the time. Just create a chat channel where you and your dunemaul friends hang out, provides the same thing for you dosent it?
The community with forums, irc and all that is an whole other story though

Tbh most of this does not stick at all. Kagemoth is one, if not the most active people on the forum and irc, being outside of the guild, he still embraces the whole aspect of this guild, more than I can say others do. From what I can see he is only raidlogging his priest on Kazzak, rest of the time is spent on his alts.
I can go with Delling being suspecious of kage though.

It's pretty simple kage, when a guy leaves the football team that is already in a bad state to go play with another team, you can't be sure that your old teammates want you there for the end of season party.

I for one am sick of this topic being brought up, its been across 3(?) threads now? And countless arguments/IRC. Just cut your losses kage, or the guild needs to find a way to get over it.

This is getting pointless. Kage made 1 big mistake and failed to realise it's impact at the start. There are/have been member that have done worse and come back. There are/have been member that have done less and weren't allow back.
Personally I think this grudge has taken on it's own life and gone way too far. We can't expect everyone to like everyone else in the guild. I, for one, would like to see kage back in the guild with one condition; that it doesn't cost us members who'll /gquit over it.

i was under the impression FF is for sitting in chat and talking shit not raid...
the officers of this guild should know that...
instead of trolling this thread just make a poll and let people vote yes/no/whocares
and then lets just see wat that says. this is pretty pointless. everyone doesnt want to raid with him. comments here. has nothing to acctually do with the app.

I was thinking about what Delling said about re-joining the forum last night and his doubts about rejoining the guild ingame. The more i think about it the nicer it sounds. I do a lot of posting here and i find it frustrating whenever my terrible grammar comes out and messes up my posts. Having member again on the forum would be really cool. I mean , even the Matt and Co. wouldn't disagree to this one surely?

I totally agree with Yoica. This one took longer than it supposed to be, though Delling might be right to think about, but still Delling you should give you decision by now. I don't think he will harm us again by joining us as a friend. Its just frustrating that this is taking tooooo long.

My situation is totally different, dell. It isn't like I've betrayed you or anything like that is it? Just changed the guild to play 25m when we didn't have 25m and came back with an application to play in IE 25m group.

This actually begs the question, how do we deal with people who are part of the community and may or may not be part of other communities for other games?
I am part of an Icelandic sc2 team, should I be allowed to stay in IE?
Gozhell is or was playing in some dota clan, should he be allowed to stay in IE?
Obviously the answer to both these questions should be yes, but isn't it a little double standards to not allow the people who choose not to play wow with the community to remain part of the rest of the guild? We're on the boundaries here of being a wow guild and a gaming community.
Personally, I think kagemoth should re-apply or edit this application to be a community application. And we must be able to accommodate for valuable community members who may not have made the best decisions regarding their wow career.
But that opens up an entirely different can of worms, which is basically people no longer being forced into being loyal to the guild.
As for now, I think we should deal with it on case-to-case basis, and I see no reason Kagemoth shouldn't be allowed to be part of our forums, IRC, and TS. But he needs to shut the fuck up about anything related to raiding as to not step on the toes of our raiders.
So yeah, I approve of him having a community status, but no character of his can be part of the IE wow guild while he's raiding with another guild.

The issue has never been playing other games in some other community (I'm sure many people in IE do.) The issue is, as far as I'm aware anyway, that he's playing a game in another community and wants to join ours for the same game.

For me, it more boils down to what we're competitive at. If we had some pro L4D team, I wouldn't want IE members playing with other L4D teams.
The WoW loyalty thing definitely stems back from when we were at the top of our raiding game (as far as I'm concerned) -- kind of connected to the whole hatred connected with migraters who discover that raiding with other guilds isn't as fun as IE, and then beg to come back.
I also don't like the idea that some people put more effort into the guild, while others just come to IE when they want an 'IE fix.'
It's a tough one. I don't really have a works-all-the-time solution. I will probably just stick to hand-approving such things.

I was listed as a sponsor, so I'll just support Kage by saying that I like him a lot. It made me sad that he abandoned you guys at the raid team just because he wanted to join a better guild, but I agree that he should be able to stay with the community and not the guild.
