Title: Shiftey buys a new PC

I am planning to buy a new PC, and probably a desktop this time. And it never hurts to ask for some opinions. Let's say the budget is roughly around ?1000. So here's what I came up with.

Now the question is whether I need a soundcard or not and what kind of PSU I need to power this. I am not looking for some massively high-end rig, but I think this would be alright.

That does not match putting in a 300 euro GPU. What games at which resolution do you need to support?

The 6850 I bought ~1,5 years ago still manages every current game at 1920 x 1080. Buy some ~120 - 150 Euro card and plan to upgrade it in 3-4 years for the same price again instead.

Still unanswered question is, what kind of PSU do I need? 500W enough?
