Title: Trackmania Nations
Post by: Daekesh on March 25, 2008, 07:24:58 pm: Dell said there was this Trackmania thing going on at I33 and it reminded me of how cool the game was. Does anyone else have it, want to play it and/or knows if u can hax the online play like wc3?

I've got a copy of Sunrise here that I haven't touched in a year (or two?), be nice to get some use out of it :)

On a side note I made a map today, nothing extreme... Its ~1:30 minute long full of wild turns, loops and jumps. Its not hard to finish but getting a good time is catchy. As I type this Sintrael is losing sanity trying to make it under 1:25 ::)

Also, I set us up an IronEdge group in-game (it was originally Iron Edge, but I forgot the login :P). To join it goto Profile on the main screen and click 'Add' on the group window to the right. The login is 'ironedge' and the password is the same as the dkp page.

GO GO!

Edit: Apparently the group thing requires that you have the full (paid for) version of trackmania united. Go go, costs £5 from play.com :)

Post by: kawe on April 27, 2008, 04:11:18 pm: Since the "forever" update (Trackmania Nations -> Trackmania Nations Forever, Trackmania United -> Trackmania United Forever), Nations is essentially a cut-down version of United, so if you have United you don't need Nations installed, as you can play on any nations server as well.

Brought down? As in stopped? I've not heard anything to that effect, and since it's been so wildly successful I don't think they'd want to stop providing it.

Nations is basically United minus most of the content.
