Does it actually rock, or does it just rock from a 'bitter WoWer, refreshing new game' viewpoint? :)

i.e. What rocks about it?
Now I run a tech website.

Well, I played an Archmage at a friend's house until level 4 (not high, but still :)) and I was actually pleasantly surprised - but not the point that would make me say the game is better than WoW.

The game is more similar to WoW that I expected (Archmage was pretty much a priest with a Smite-like spell, a SW:Pain-like spell, a Lesser Heal-like spell and a Renew-like spell) and yet it's somehow different, but I suppose you'd have to play it to see. :)

I thought it was a bit less complex than WoW and I also prefer WoW graphics. *shrug*

I don't think I'm leaving WoW any time soon. :)

Ok things i like, Game is based around pvp, many quests require you to actively seek out other players to kill. You can pvp from lvl 1, every start zone has a batteground linked to it that you can join from anywhere just by clicking on the icon by the minimap. When its over you are right when you joined it form.
Each pvp bracket is 1-11, 10-21 ect. the reason you can pvp from any level is the game has a inbuildt mechanic to buff you when you enter pvp if you under lvled, example, if go pvp at lvl 2 you are automaticly buffed to lvl 8 (stats of a lvl 8 player and skills of a lvl 8 player) In Warhammer your skills get more powerful as you lvl up, a skill at lvl 1 that does 10 damage will do 40 damage at lvl 10 etc.

If you wanted you can lvl from 1-40 without ever doing a quest or pve grind. You have pvp levels that you allow you acces to gear, once you reach required rank. Pvp provides cash from kills, and exp both pvp exp and standard exp. Looting dead players has just as much chance for a green or blue item to drop as a monster. (currently using a nice blue 2 handed axe from a wizard lol.

For the pve players, the new concept of public quests is s very fun and a nice way to lvl, each zone has a number of public quests that you partake in and join at any stage of the quest, and when its over it resets to the beginging.  Each objective of the quest grants reputaion and at each of 3 stages of reputation earned you can claim a reward. All rewards are based on your class and only your class, no public quest or normal quest gives a reward you cant use.At the end of a public quest you get a score based on your partication, and then there is a random roll by everyone added to your particpation score. The final boss in the public quest chain drops a loot chest. Depending on how well you score u have the option of getting a green bag or if you did very well you might even get a  blue bag, if you didnt do much you probaly wont get a bag at all. Inside the bag are various items, you can chose 1 item from the bag as a reward. Again all rewards are class specific, you never get something you cant use.

Keep defense/sieges = awesome fun, if your attacking or defending both sides have platforms you can errect siege engines on that you control, form cannons to pits of boiling oil. Sucess in taking or defeding keeps gives major pvp exp rewards.

EDIT, Forgot to add the tome of knowledge, that thing rocks here is a link with a bit of info

I've got my preorder too, waiting for the game to come. Post what server you are "testing" the game on here later on. GO OPEN RVR, screw core servers doods.

Edit: definetly playing a Goblin Shaman or a Squig Herder. Next generation of evil gnomes. YaY.
