Title: Raider Application - Priest (DPS) - Footmunch
Post by: Applicant on May 20, 2015, 06:41:11 pm
Hello, Iron Edge!

I am applying for the main raid.

Character: Footmunch
Armory: http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/Kazzak/Footmunch/advanced
Class/Spec: Priest (DPS)
Member Type: raider

Personal Info:

Raphael Wank
27 going on 28
Stuttgart Germany at the present.

Im a full-time Software Developer at a local company focusing on Desktop Applications.

Class/Spec:

Shadow for Life!
I have always played Ranged Dps when it comes to wow so i have sorta stuck with all classes along that line.

I did occasionally play my priest as a healer but i prefer not to.

My current ilvl is 667 and im on the HM part of the Legendary quest chain.

On my Mage and on my hunter alts im currently on the BRF part of the legendary chain.

As for Shadow there's 2 play styles currently. The styles are COP(Calarity of Power)/AS(Auspicious Spirits) for single target or cleave. Depending on the fights you swap out the talents and it affects your playstyle and rotation completly.

Depending on gear and stats AS becomes better than COP for multi target. For AS to work properly you need 25% + crit or it doesnt do more dps than COP in cleave scenario.

For the Stat prio im going along these lines:

Int (1.00) > Spell Power (.88) > Crit (.76) > Haste (.69) > Multistrike (.58) > Versatility (.49) > Mastery (.41)

Alltho for AS/COP there are seperate stat prios the combined one looks like this.
That way you perform decent in both specs.

As for the Rotation, for COP you build Shadow Orbs with Minblast on CD and use Mindspike till u at 4.

At this point you cast 2 more mind spike into a swp followed by a Mindblast.
Now your at 5 orbs and you cast VT, followed by DP and then Insanity.
As soon as MB is of CD you cast that and follow with a full insanity. Reapply DP and cast Insanity. Cast MB of CD. When the 2nd DP runs out the other dotts usually also are falling off and you go back to the Mindspike/MB rotation to build orbs.

Alts:

I have my hunter and my mage for alts.

http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/Kazzak/Kab%C3%B6%C3%B6m/advanced

http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/Kazzak/Menostalker/advanced

I played my mage earlier this Expac to raid with, so that explains his gear.

Kabööm: 208 days
Menostalker: 42 days
Footmunch: 114 days

Professions:

Im running alchemy and tailoring on my priest for the past few expacs. I try to spread the professions across my alts so i have what ever possible.

Raiding Experience:

Quick Summary:
I started raiding on my Hunter during MC. I ended up switching towards my Mage and also playing him into Naxx.
I stuck with mage all the way till Wotlk Ulduar where i was asked to roll a priest for the guild i joined.
I played my Priest all the way till DS and got the Legendary Staff during Firelands.
In MoP i swapped back to my Mage due to the horrible state of SPs.
During WoD i discovered my love for SP again so im playing that again now.
At the start of Wod there was 0 demand for SP which forced me into lvling a Mage and raiding with that for a bit.

mop:

At the start of Mop i brievly played for a short while before moving to Germany which resulted in me taking a break till SOO.
When SOO came out a bunch of friends got together and formed a guild to raid under our terms, which didnt work out in the long run and we all stoped the game again.

At this points i went and got into Wildstar raiding, which i stayed with for 2-3 months. When WoD came out i jumped back onto that wagon since it looked interesting.

wod:
At the start of WoD i joined Supremacys guild and raided there up to 1/7 mythic HM.
His guild fell apart and i tryed raiding in Missive. I raided with them up to Maidens HC.
My Sub ran out and i called it quits due to the Raid Atmosphere and the constant lack of people for raids.

Previous Guilds:

Vanilla: i cant tell you the names, only that it was on Frostmourne a German Realm at that time and i raided there till TBC, when i migrated to an english realm called Dunemaul.

During TBC i was in a casual guild at the start. Towards SSC/TK i joined a guild called Urban Legends on Dunemaul Alliance, where I became an officer and we raided until BT/MH together.(here i met ET/Queras). I still have the other officers on real id todate.
For SWP i moved to Quel'Thalas(realm is gone) where i raided in Lost in Azeroth and cleared SWP with them.

Many guilds disbanded after SWP so i moved back to dunemaul where i found a home in After Life and got my Naxx/Uld experience here.
When Alliance died on that realm many of us moved over and joined Iron Edge. In Iron Edge i raided all the way through to Dragon Soul and ended up beeing an officer.

For Soo i struggled to find something to my liking to get back into the Raiding so i created Hydra with a bunch of my buddys. 1 by 1 the officer core faded due to the ammount of work requiered and the guild disbanded around feb 2014.

For Wod i joined Ad Infinitum on RC as a casual to just enjoy the game again, by the time raiding started again, Supremacy asked me to join him and raid casually. I stuck with that till they called quits and moved to Missive where, where my chars still are.

Availability:

I work 07:00-17:00 mon to fri. with the occasional meeting going over time.

There wont be any other holiday till Christmas from my side, since i just got back from a Vacation in South Africa.

Other Games:

I usualy get sucked into 1 game after another, but currently Witcher has got me good.

Besides WoW i spent alot of time in HotS aswell and Diablo 3 ofc when a new Season comes knocking.

Why Iron Edge?

I have quite a few friends currently in IE and it would be nice to join them.

What can I offer Iron Edge?

A leash for Critorus(Aidan).
Sanity for Supremacy(Petar).

A capable SP, that knows how to MMO(Ask Aidan how to MOBA, hell teach you).

Where did I hear about Iron Edge?

IE was the only guild to be in back in Dunemaul, after alliance collapsed, and before Catastrophe came along.

Last Words?

Wheres Goza? He has my Death's Demise Title.

Footmunch

As an apply its not bad, you raided to Maidens and then didn't like the raid atmosphere, there a lot of my former guildies in a guild called V o T H that formed Missive, the atmosphere to me was the same with what 1 can describe as comedy use of abusive language.

You let your sub run out, any guarantee that wont happen again? Looking at your progress, 7 mythic kills in total of Highmaul and none and not a full clear in hc brf, even with you returning to the game, bit behind on the gear but only slightly.

This isn't taking in what I've read before where you fled instead of sticking with the bad times and only want the good, mythic raiding is both can we rely on you not leaving due to baddies again? I'm a firm believer of Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me. If you don't get that expression just vision yourself tap dancing on thin ice...

Obviously you have a few fans in the guild being Aidan and Suprem, i wasn't around when you was last here but i so i can only go on what I've read on forums but i wont lie, that is in the back of my mind.

Vejeta

Missive is a group of nice guys, but the attendance issues they have are horrible.

People show up for farm and not progress. From the Officer core in Feb theres only 1 left, the others all left or got banned in the recent wave.

Having to scrape together people to raid sucks, especially for mythic.

Letting my sub run out was a choice, because raiding with Missive wasnt an option at the time. If you end the raid 2 hours in because someone decides to fake dc and theres 0 backup is no way to have fun.

I was raiding in IE for about 3,5 years from Ulduar until DS and i never "abbandoned ship". I was part of the few people that moved to Ravencrest to keep the 4day raiding a week alive due to the lack of people on Dunemaul. This didnt work out and the raid was scrapped. During MoP I discussed with an officer the possibility of joining the B-Raid. It didnt work out, i left the guild and quit the game. This has all been said in the other discussion befor so theres no reason to discuss it further.

Footmunch,

It was discussed in the other topic but to be dismissive of it, of course its relevant. It gives an example of the person in question. Same as saying i was in a guild for 7 years then we killed LK HC only once and i ninja;d Invincible and ex realmed etc, it gives a measurement of just what that guy is when it comes to putting themselves out for there team (that's an example i genuinely don't have that mount XD)

People showing up for farm and not progress is an issue in every guild i've ever been in they want the easy ride and dont wanna work for it, there not mythic raiders so meh we have had a few nights recently ourselves where lack of attendees means we have had the same 20 people in despite fails and shit but not replaced due to no one around. Although fake dc'ing is the scummiest thing going imho.

Anyway ive said what ive wanted to, good luck on the apply and as i say i wasnt around when you done whatever you done, i don't personally care, but what i care about is raiding with people i can trust and rely on.

Good luck on the apply.

Hey! I don't need sanity !

Just gonna ignore that u said "my Guild" failed (twice u said it!) I was not the GM! and I was the only person pulling those lazy Romanians, God help me I actually started feeling sorry for Delling...

Anyways, back on track.

Near 4 years in the Guild (raiding). Was a Officer, so clearly was deemed mature, competent and reliable.

Did not leave when it all started falling apart, id say u stuck for another good... year and a half after the fall?

On top of all of this moved to RC w/ the remaining core to try and bring the Guild back to life.

Are we rly going to ignore all of this and prob much more that I have forgotten due to a small mistake or a miscommunication ?

No it's not going to be ignored. Vejeta has a tendency to comment on applications and sometimes say things that are a little inappropriate/unnecessary.

But as you may know all members have the right to comment on applications but the final decision is Mooneclipse's, we'll wait and see what he has to say. No need to go deeper into what happend like 2 years ago.

Goodluck!

Looks like you know how shadow works, and your raiding experience is great. Quite behind on gear though.

Vejeta has a tendency to comment on applications and sometimes say things that are a little inappropriate/unnecessary.

That's fine, it drives the weak away.

I never saw IE as a place for ppl who could not handle trolling.

I wasn't trolling genuine feelings.

I always look at guild applications as job applys and if there's information I've got from other sources I take into consideration, only thing I'll add is I don't regret what I say and am always willing to be proved wrong so footmunch has that on his side at least.

Sorry for the very late response from my side, I've been absurdly preoccupdied with stuff at Uni and I've been neglecting my duties.
Even though this is a very well-made application, and you have a lot of experience with raiding in previous expansions and even have some experience through Highmaul, the fact of the matter is that you are way behind on both gear and experience; you still don't even have the up-to-snuff ring. I am more than happy to offer you a social spot within the guild, I've gotten to talk to you a little bit and I've seen and heard that you have quite some friends in this guild who'd be happy to see you join. You could choose to join the guild as a social, and after you've geared up sufficiently and even aquired some more experience within the foundry we could consider you for the main raid,  if that sounds good  :D
