Title: Paladin Application
Post by: Deor on January 06, 2007, 09:07:33 pm
Personal Information

Hello Iron Edge, you may or may not know me in WoW as Glowbox or Deor, but my real name is David and I'm 19 years old and live in Holland. Currently I’m studying Computer Science at the university of Utrecht.

Character Information

You can find my gear and resistance gear in the following ctprofile:
http://ctprofiles.net/3181421
Fire Resistance: 117
Nature Resistance: 125
Spec: 44/7/0
Proffesions: Tailoring 300/Herbalism 300

I also have a level 60 tauren warrior on Dunemaul named Glowbox (that’s also my name on Dunemaul.org). He has blacksmithing (armorsmithing) 300 and mining 300.

As for preparation for my paladin, there is a nice guide on curse-gaming which I’m following: http://wow.curse-gaming.com/en/editorials/297/tips-for-re-rolling-in-the-expansion/ . Probably gonna go for a female Blood Elf named Ino.

Gaming (optional) and World Of Warcraft history

About one and a half year ago I started playing WoW: three of my classmates were playing it too and it looked like a nice game. Since they all had a character on Dunemaul I decided to make one there too, and so my tauren warrior was born. Even though I liked
tanking I couldn’t get into any guilds so I decided to reroll to my warlock. At 60 I did some MC runs with Dark Horizons, but then some people migrated from another server and started the guild <NERF>. It was a nice guild and we made some good progress but when we arrived at Blackwing Lair people didn’t show up anymore and eventually the guild disbanded. Some dutch friends were now in the guild <Grab Me Tarzan> so I joined that guild. After quite some raids we finally downed Razorgore once but people began to slack and the guild master couldn’t play WoW for 2 months so eventually everyone left that guild too. The same friends from Grab Me Tarzan joined the guild Eternity, but there is almost no guild spirit there and things like ‘HAPPY NEW YEAR SLACKERS’ are things I don’t like see in a guild message of the day…

Why do you want to join Iron Edge?

Since one of my reallife friends is a member of Iron Edge (You know him as Guanoape) I always hear great stories about this guild and it's friendly members (like Ventrilo and the guild chat). Furthermore Iron Edge has some skilled members that are willing to work for progress. I haven’t really had a guild where everyone prepared for a raid (or even showed up…) and knew the tactics. The only thing in WoW I haven’t tried yet is playing a healing class, and Paladins are a very versatile class with a lot of options to spec and buff, so when I heared you were looking for paladins I thought that this is the right time to reroll.

What can I offer to Iron Edge?

I can offer a friendly, loyal and helpful teamplayer that understands what to do, always willing to prepare for raids. Since I only have 16 hours of college a week I can be quite active, but ofcourse I also have to spent some time at school and irl stuff. Also my other characters have gathering proffesions so I can always get some materials for the bank.

Last words?
Drugs are bad, mmmkay?

Thanks for reading my application ;).

Nice guy, real life friend, knows how to play, etc. etc. He has a female orc warlock! Might be someone for Goza to hang out with, sharing tailoring stories  ;) I can't however ensure you that he will hit 60 on his paladin and heal, he's more likely to go hit stuff with his mace  8)

Hehe I'd love to share some tailoring stores  8). As for leveling, I'm pretty sure I'll level quite quick, I made some preparations such as weapons:

level 5- Training Sword of the Monkey
level 10- Tranquillien Flamberge
level 16- Black Malice (Fiery weapon enchant)
level 20- There's a very good quest reward weapon from the new Ghostlands.
level 30- Viscious Hammer (Fiery weapon enchant)
level 36- Dont have anything for this level, but Herod drops a nice weapon in SM.
level 45- Ragehammer (Fiery weapon enchant)
level 52- Destiny (Gonna enchant this with crusader, need to buy two righteous orbs and I have the mats for the enchant too).

I also made some preparations for quests that need mats such as:

All the shredder pages in Ashenvale
All the Stranglethorn vale pages
1 Gyrochronatom
20 Twilight Texts
25 Ungoro Soil
7x Power Crystals of every color
1 Mithril Casing
10 Wastewander Water Pouch
A few zulian coins of different kind and a bijou
And mats for a few other quests too.
I also got 4 16 slot bags for my paladin to use and I'm now farming a lot of cloth and then consumables like healing and mana potions.

And when it comes to healing: I dont mind going for the full Holy-tree and spec for Blessing of Kings too, something like this (http://www.wowhead.com/?talent-bc=sVxurguhestxMu) would suite the best for a Healadin. Edit: the wow-europe talents don't seem to work properly....

For leveling however I'm gonna go deep into retribution, getting Seal of Command first, then getting Vengeance and so on to Crusader Strike.
