What is the speed of the 60% flying mount when compared to an epic riding mount (ie 100%), so basically is flying speed and riding speed all based on the same scale ... I would presume so.
So is the 60% mount worth getting @ 70 or should u be grinding the 5k (even though it will take a few weeks to do) and how much content will u be unable to get to (err... instances can be summoned)
I would say the cool factor will be missed during the grind but will be well worth the w8 IMO
-
You really "need" a flying mount @ 70. Be it epic or non epic.
Never again will you be dazed!!!1
Just find out where you wanna go
Go up
Autorun
And enjoy the few
I was not gonna go for the epic mount till i saw delling with his rocket speeding by....
Must get one now :)
-
Want a mortgage plx !!!10N311!!1
gonna need about 3k for epic by the time i get to 70, averaging about 35g an hour while questing with AH stuff getting mailed to bank char who has made about 300 gold in a week
-
druid ftw! hehe
-
AFAIK the normal flying mount has a 60% speed increase both flying and riding. 60% is the same as a none epic old Azeroth mount.
Epic flying mount has 100% speed increase riding, 280% speed increase flying.
So:
normal flying = slower than epic Azeroth mount (but it can fly)
epic flying = same speed as epic Azeroth mount & it flies damn fast

Interesting:
125% / 310% Phoenix mount? (http://www.thottbot.com/?sp=32345)
-
nah goza its 60% on land 100% in air for standard
epic is correct at 100% on land and 280% in air
druids are 60% in air
Cheers,
-
The standard one says '60%' on it... so I really doubt it's actually 100% in the air, or it would be labelled as such.
And yeah, there are meant to be faction mounts that have different air/ground speeds, like the phoenix and netherdrake :)
-
somebody must have one to confirm. But, if thats the case then the druid flight form seems quite imba and saves serious cash (if you dont want an epic)
-
No shit... it's already the basis of hundreds of whine posts on the official forums :P
-
Enlighten this noob pls.
can you shoot a player flying on his mount out of the air? (when in range ofc.)
-
Doesn't druid flight form give you the first "flying mount riding skill"? I think that is the point where druids save moolah.
-
yes, but you need lasers. Delling actually has a imperial star destroyer follow him around AS STANDARD.
-
And an orchestra that plays my theme tune...
Yeah, druids get the 225 skill for free (or the 10g to train the Pigeon Form spell).
If you're flying within 30 yards of the ground or so you seem to be able to target them/do damage. But can't do much while you're up in the air... immune to polymorph and stuff. Boring :)
-
bear and cat form is immunity as well btw. although im sure back in the day it was shifting that resolved that. oh well who cares :D
-
Runaway form replaced by flyaway form ... now i will never get to kill a druid, they get to gank you when ur on 30% health and spam there lazerz but u try and its omfg travel form and liek baiiii but u got to love amp CoEX and the nubbin druids who don't dispel it :)

I is in ma office, trolling ur forumz! Am I missing something here? Dr00ds learn that squeek form and they get 225 riding skill free? I dont mind them getting free mountlike speed but giving free riding skill? They arent riding that pigeon... They are teh pigeonz!
-
;D ;D ;D ;D :D :D :D ;D ;D ;D
Roll a druid its cheaper!!!!
Lego
-
when i go back to resto i have no intention of PvP when somebody seems me in my resto gear and decides im a free kill. yay for pigeon i say. Ok feral its a bit painful :|
-
wai to kill a druid:
shout "PULL!!!11ONE11" /cast lolcoil
/use_item "browning over and under"
**Poof** feather drift gently on the breeze....
shashagree @ smor wtf it with learning RIDING 225 if u are teh ride
-
im sure i saw a gnome on a nelf type mount rather than the gyphon? does that mean horde can access the bats somehow?
-
Nightelf flying mount? There are no race specific flying mounts that I know of, just gryphons for alliance, windriders for horde (apart from special mounts like netherdrakes/phoenix etc that are earned somehow). Maybe the gnome was on one of those scripted fly-around quests?
-
There seems to be a 'brownish' alliance mount, and a big white one, like a pegasus.
But I've seen 60% versions of both...
I guess they are just different colours? While we get 'different exciting body colour changes' instead?
-
not sure but regarding the horde "standard" flying mounts they have just buggered up the colours on it. clearly reshaded the body texture and totally forgot to cover the fur on the wings with the same colour. Only the standard looking wyvern and the ones with armour seem to look right,
Rather have a bat myself :P

The Pegasus looks like the War ram the "brown orcs" - Mag'har sell from Nagand I think you need to be Exalted and the 100% mount costs 100g, but it is not a flying mount...
