Very good story about how a child lying about a criminal act can change the life drasticly for other people. Has some nice twists where you see the same acts from different PoV's.

Good acting from Kiera Knigtley and James McAvoy (from Last king of Scotland etc).

Oh.. and yeah.. in the ending you'll prolly face palm yourself for misunderstanding half of the movie.. So, rather cool ending.

8/10 if you're in drama mood.

Oh.. and Kiera's dress is apparently voted the best looking dress in film history according to my girlfriend - if ur into stuff like that :P

Yeah, as I said on dunemaul.org: One of the better oscar nominees this year. A very solid and classic "failed love" story. Not that inventive, but good entertainment if you like that kind of movie. And a very impressively made "post warzone" beach scene.

But... what could one misunderstand in that movie...?

Meh Ive had this movie on my hd for a month, perhaps its time to watch that one too.

Pretty good movie. Some pretty beautiful scenes a long the way.

and I dont quite agree on the misunderstanding thing but I get your point.

I found the actress playing the young Briony a bit too stonefaced for my taste, yes I know she was walking around with something weighing on her mind. Perhaps she will do better in a role with more acting required.
