Watched it yesterday, and it's damn good. Did not expect that much after many of this year's oscar nominee movies were kind of drab, lengthy and had minimal story fitting 1 page of script (No Country for Old Men, Michael Clayton). TWBB seemed to be just that kind of movie, too, but in fact there's enough story progression to carry it's 2.5 hours.

I did not expect the preacher to have such a large role, very interesting. Also noteworthy: the awesomely eccentric music (just learned it's by a guy from Radiohead. Figures...)

The end starts a bit abrupt (when he's suddenly all loco and alcoholic, kinda steep progression), but culminates very satisfying humiliating and killing the megaannoying holier-than-thou preacher in a weird way.

One of the best movies of 2007. A bit slow at times but with some very good scenes. I do, however, tend to only remember the good parts in movies like this after I get some distance to them. When I get to see some great stuff I'm more forgiving to the less interesting parts. Most movies I see leaves my mind the second I see the credits. This one didn't.

Liked it also mucho. Had a bit of " oh god, many oscar = bland movie" before watching it. But it delivers!
Good actors allround and a very nice setting for the movie.
Liked the "explanation" of the title at the very end.

9/10!

All go watch this one.!

I thought the movie was a little too slow myself.  It was very well acted, but the script sort of didn't go anywhere for a large amount of time.

Bit late. But I just took the time to watch this movie.

I really enjoyed it, human beings are such fucking greedy bastards. 

D.D.Lewis is really good as a heartless bastard, although I did a few times during the movie think, that he actually had some affection for the kid - guess not.

The movie really managed to fill out the gaps without dialogue with pretty scenes and a good soundtrack.
