Title: Charlie Wilson's War

Was an OK film.  Slightly humorous.  About how Charlie Wilson, a US congressman, single handedly ran the covert war against the Soviet Union back in the 80's.

Lots of hot women!

Liked the quote at the end, seems very apt for this decade.

7/10.

Saw this at the cinema when it was released a few monthes back. It seemed to slip under most peoples radar, which sucks, as i thought it was a really good film. 8.5/10.

Seen this now, says a lot about how it went down in the late 80's, and how the US has run wars in the past. Nicely made, and I loved Gust and his way of speaking :D

Bumping an old thread but I just saw this one and didn't have high expectaions. I really enjoyed it though. Mike Nichols sure is back on track again with this one and Closer a few years back. He made The Graduate and Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf in the 60s which everyone should see :).

I usually don't like Tom Hanks much be he was very good in this movie. Seymour Hoffman is awesome as usual. It's about how US, inofficially, helped Afghanistan when they were invaded by Sovjet. They later just left a country in turmoil after bringing a lot of weapons to it and training the people in gerilla warfare. 15 years later the country is crowded with terrorists. Very intelligent and also very funny!

8/10
