A fairly unknown Spanish horror/suspense, and probably one of the best horrors I have ever seen. Set in Barcelona, a television reporter and her crew film a group of firefighters on an initially routine call to an apartment block, but the events to follow take a more sinister turn. I won't say too much as it's better the less you know.
I'm not generally a fan of handheld camera perspective filming, but the director executes it perfectly using every aspect of the filming technique to really immerse you in the claustrophobic horror atmosphere, building to a fantastically climatic and creepy ending.
The only down point is that its rather short, but every minute is golden.
9.5/10
N.B. If you appreciate foreign and/or horror films this is definately one to add to your library.

downloaded. will watch it tonight!
-
I GOT to see this. Trailer looks promising. I'll make sure Inphy will use his available download rate to download it.
(Inphy if you read this, DOWNLOAD IT NOW, saves me having to go to your room to ask for it. Thanks!)
To go a bit offtopic, what other good horror/thriller movies are there that I shouldn't be missing out on? Planning to have a Horror/Thriller movie marathon soonish, so need to have some good movies I guess... (Seen Hostel(1+2), The ring, the grudge, saw 1+2+3+4 already)

I may have a few more recommendations if you guys like this instalment, I'm usually quite critical when it comes to cinema but I've managed to find a few superb films recently.
-
Haha fuck sake, that was actually a bit scary
-
Very good movie, indeed.
Malik> If u wanna see another Spanish horror/drama movie checkout The Orphanage. Review @ http://xoops.iron-edge.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=2674.0

Thanks for the recommendation but I've already seen the Orphanage, I'm a very big fan of Guillermo Del Toro. Have you seen the Devil's Backbone? It's one of the first films he directed but also one of his best.
-
Ah, ok. Yeah I'm very fond of his work aswell. I haven't seen The Devil's Backbone tho! I'm definatly on finding that one now :) Thanks!
-
Im shitting my pants. It's awefull, it's bad. I HATE HORROR MOVIES. Why do i even bother watching them!
-
That was quite fucking scary, yes. I went mental when the girl starting rabiesing.
A long while since I was scared by a movie, fucking awesome. So...real!
-
Finally watched this...
Man...
Really good! In many ways!
I actually jumped and yelped... man...
And that girl is so photogenic. Not beautiful, but I enjoyed every moment with her on screen...
-
i'd do her.
-
Me too, especially early-on when her pig tails aren't messed up.
-
wow i gotta get that! trailer looked awesome, that little girl is so cute. i can imagine when they filmed it they had an awesome time :)
looks like you should watch this be the english remake Quarantine comes out. looks like they gave it the usual american twist (ie they are gonna kill it)
-
Damn, all the praise here had me expect more. That was kinda bland and "the usual stuff" :/
I hate it when protagonists in movies are too stupid. The folks in there (and out of the building, for the plot's sake) do stupid things and behave incredibly stupid.
And, seriously, the reporter chick was the most annoying thing of the whole movie, until the 2nd half when she mostly shut the fuck up. "OMG I have the camera! I am important! We need to film this!1! Are you filming this? Film everything! I have the camera!"
-
Well she wasn't meant to be... er... not annoying?
I think her main purpose was to build the tension by being way over the top, and screaming, and reacting to the environment.
But hey, I am a horror noob, and I've seen about 5 horror films in total, so what do I know :)
