Saw Quantum of Solace yesterday and have to say was mildly disappointed. I mean, the action scenes were utterly incredible, a lot more realistic that the older bonds (and on par with Casino Royal), but the story line was just blatantly trying to tie up ends from the previous film, with no real direction as a film itself.
The name kinda makes sense, the bad guys are apparently known as Quantum, though I only heard that mentioned once or twice through the entire film, and obviously he's trying to get comfort from the first one, which is where the solace comes in. There's typical bond humour throughout, just disappointed on the storyline front.
Probably give if a 7 out of 10.

I head that not once in QOS he says "My name is Bond, James Bond".. How can it be a Bond movie then ? Gonna watch it first before saying more though. Although all danish reviews i read said it was not good at all, like you said nice action scenes, but storyline and the fact is is much more like "bourne" is just nothing like good old James Bond.

Without having seen Solace yet, IMO the modern bond movies have a hard time justifying their existence. Like, wtf would I spend time and money to watch them...?
Guess back in the days it was action scenes not seen in other movies. Thanks to CGI nowadays every 08/15 movie can have those. In addition, modern Bond movies take themselves way too serious. They have shit stories, maybe due to being pressed in the unbeatable superagent corset. Generic bond chicks and shit villains (I don't even remember those of the last movie). -> bleh

QOS was okey, short movie tho and we didnt hear him say "Im james, james bond" that was dissapointing. Otherwise it was a pretty good movie, a complete follow up for Casino Royale. The good thing i like about Daniel Craig is that hes so damn brutal, and that wtfpwnsyOoO!
