If you fancy something to read, I've been working fairly hard at writing stuff about WoW in general and guilds in particular over on my 'WoW blog'.
It's mostly guild leader'ish type stuff, but you might find it interesting to see what has gone through my mind for the last few years:

Feel free to pass the link around, if you have a friend that's just starting up a guild, or some raiding guild that's trying to become 'more hardcore' :)
Next up is probably something on successful guild/officer structures, hopefully in the next day or two.

Oh, it's very much PVE-focused, before anyone asks ... :P
-
I dont fit into any of those Raiding stereotypes!
I think we have a few "Killers" in the guild though.

Those are very strict hardcore raiding stereotypes!
IE is a bit of an anomaly because we don't recruit purely on merit, or dedication.
Some people sneak in with very strong applications... and we just have to make the most of that situation :P

i 'm gonna call you brother hence forth

incredibly interesting read. Have been sitting here the last 30 mins or so reading this article at this time of night where i should raughter be sleeping, but the further complexity of the article kept me going.
i just cant keep on notching at so many thing in here and all players who have played this game for a long amount of time should read and evaluate the article and be amazed of how much they will recognise in there through the time they have been playing the game, im quite sure that many will be amazed of how much they will nod to many things written there :)
