Trying to avoid any more trailers after that awful one a while back... about everyone being dead, or something.
Don't want to spoil the darn plot!
-
thats the first trailer i posted you should watch the second one though
that was allso the part that made me rage hard killing sheppard off is all nice and dandy but doing offscreen with 1 fucking geth when you as a player have fought atleast 1000 geth(s) before is just sort of rage worthy to me
anyway watch the second one it made me happy after seeing the first one
-

GIVE ME MORE TALI DAMN IT
-
the fuck really....
but yeah gif ME2, enjoyed the first alot.
-
in b4 you can't have her
-
Well, it's 'available' for both systems by now...
So far plays like the first (as to be expected). Great character design/facial animations (like in the first one). Crappy minigames to hack stuff (like in the first one!).
I like the dialogue system that lets you choose your next option already while the NPC finishes his last sentence. Queues it up so the dialogues are fluent with no artificial "wait let me check my options first" breaks. Like in the first one! (orly)
The start of the story feels very rushed. Can't tell here due to spoilers, but the way you get thrown right into your new job/position/role and how everyone/old friends just accept that is very... implausible and Bioware-unlike.
-
Zomg, it's leaked?
-
Ah yes... Razor release for PC. Neat.
-
Should I get this for PC or Xbox360? Anybody know the cons/perks of either?
-
If you have ME1, you can import your character (history and looks) on that platform. Apparently has some story pickups, thou I guess it's not really that important.
Otherwise I read PC looks slightly better due to higher res, but Xbox360 interface is said to be more direct. AFAIK PC version does not support Xbox controller but has it's own interface. Faster loading time on PC, but the XBox ones don't annoy me much.
Have both but didn't install PC version yet.
-
Yeah, menu system on PC is a bit shit (as always).
You gotta select menu options, then click 'OK' at the bottom -- no double click for some reason? (WHY WHY WHY?)
PC's pretty smooth so far tho'. But you can't take your hand off the mouse, in case you miss the renegade/paragon options :)
-
You know, I'm starting to think ME1 was the superior game. There are a tons of bugs and 'common sense' things that aren't there. E.g. As Dell said, you can't double click things in menus to navigate, you have to click an option and then click the 'i choose you' button at the bottom. To say the least, it's a game that could benefit greatly from a patch or two (shock horror.) Not something I'd expect from Bioware :/
The combat, while fun, is a little off as well. Almost all encounters consist of 'spawn 3-5 mobs, when some of them are dead, spawn the next wave of identical mobs - repeat 7 times'. This kinda kills the flow of the game, when you're stuck in 1 area for 5-10 minutes killing the same enemies 10 times. The 'out of combat' detection is a little crap as well. Once you've defeated your 19 waves of mobs, if there is another set of waves around the corner, 9 times out of 10 you can't save (or have your team mates revive) until you've killed that lot as well, even though you're clearly not engaged in combat. The pathing of enemies is also pretty crappy.
Whoever suggested the 'run button is also the cover button' idea NEEDS TO BE SHOT.
Don't get me started on planet scanning, such a fucking hassle. When the maximum number of probes u can carry is 30 and 90% of planets have over 30 mineral deposits to scan, it can be a real bother flying back to a whole other star system to stock up on them. Bring back the Mako I say!
Not to be totally negative, though, it is a very good game overall. The story, or what I've seen so far of it, is pretty interesting. The writing, voice acting and animation in the game are superb. The new star system (not solar system, Bison!) and star cluster navigation is pretty awesome.

Yeah, screw the planet scanning and it's designer.
But why do you shoot 30 probes on a single planet - I maybe do 5-12 depening on the type. That's already boring enough but yields me enough resources. Btw there's a ship upgrade that lets you have 60 probes.
But ditch the Mako, wtf that was the worst in ME1. The Mako and the stupid side-missions on the planets that all ended up in one of the prefab 'houses'.
-
But the mako was lots of fun!
Just found that probe upgrade, too. 60 is still shit. Give 600!
-
Some of the bugs are quite fun, i've climbed up a few walls by accident then cant get back down, also had flying companions. Gotta say the probe thing is a pain in the ass.
Also the run button while also being used to 'cover' its also annoying when running passed friendlies that you can talk to and you want to run, you start talking to them :(
Completed the main storyline on normal, gave me the choice to use that characters weapons, level.. etc and start a new game. Now playing on Hardcore.
End game collector stuff is very good, nice to see how previous choices affect what happens at the end.
-
Gotta say the probe thing is a pain in the ass.
Little green men, they're so rude, don't even use lube.

-
a geth doing the Robot! My mind is BLOWN
-
one of the best conversations in game imo
-
"Wait. You sang?"
-
i loved that bit... but i didnt want to spoil it for people that havent seen it yet
-
Would like to point out, on the second playhtrough, and if you import someone, you get 600k/Materials at the start.
you really don't even need to planet scann.
Oh and, the Mako was not fun, kesh, I prefer Probes to the Mako, that shit was awful.
-
HATER

wth, i only got 100k resource
-
it depends on what character you had from ME1 if he/she was rich in ME1 you will get 5k of any resource and 100k credits add that with the 50k resources you get for completing ME2 you get alot
anyway i just found out that if you have garrus with you during mordins loyalty mission you get some nice dialog when you enter the hospital
-
Just like ME1, 95% of the game is side-quests (including gathering your team) and the actual storyline takes place in like... 5 missions? Hrmpf.
-
All the main 'side quests' you mention do have an impact tho :P
-
...they do? They either recruit a crew member or make that crew member loyal, opening up their last skill.
They are all well done and fun, yet it's still a bit "meh" that when finally you have completed your crew, it takes ~1h to finish the game with them.
-
Don't want to spoil it.
Something else annoying is that once u've unlocked all your crew and done their loyalty quests, if you've already spent their talents points, u can't really take anything in the loyalty skill. Seems a bit short-sighted.
-
There's this "retrain skill" tech research. Doesn't that let you spend all points anew, or does it just work for Shepard himself?
Didn't try it myself as I was OK with my points.
-
its just shepard
-
It'd have been ok if u kept getting 2 points per level after 20. Bit gay that u only get 1...
-
Read up on the different endings and how they work. Rather lame and most not really controlable once you reach it.
If you're done with the game, 2nd post here kinda sums it up:

Damn, think i might just have the 'happiest' ending. Yay for achievements?
-
Yeah, there isn't a whole lot of story, eh?
I figure this is the 'character building' second episode though? To build up for the finale?
I've just started doing the loyalty quests.
-
Well, that would mean the crew from ME2 would be the crew from ME3. Which is rather unlikely giving the different endings and who can survive and who not.
-
Ya, I figured not everyone would survive, but was hoping for no spoilers :P
-
everyone can survive if you play it right
-
...that's the thing. You can basically have everything happen.
Is that a spoiler? I cant spoil your game as I dont know how your game will end. OMG COMPLEX.

There is an ending on youtube where Shepard dies, It's pretty exciting stuff

Do you know if zaeed (or whatever his name is) counts towards the achievement? I failed his loyalty mission :(

Released for PS3 a week or so ago!
I havent played ME1 so I was a bit uncertain about getting this game or not. For anyone out there in the same position that I am: get it! It's a great game and you don't have to play ME1 to appreciate it and get into the story (though im sure its a different and a bit deeper experience if you have)

Cant your PC run it or why did you buy it for ps3..? Of course you have to play ME1 to get into ME2.
If you are in a position to get it... get it for PC, you can allways import your pc saves from ME1 to ME2 and to future ME3.
-
I was a bit uncertain about getting this game or not
lol u r funny
Has there been a game series that got more awards in the past years than ME1 and ME2? Not really a hard choice whether one should give it a try or not :D
Of course you have to play ME1 to get into ME2.
Hmm, yeah? Dunno about this one. I thought there wasn't too much connection between ME1 and ME2. Some characters reappeared, but not really a requirement to have played the first part.
-
Maybe I phrased it wrong. More like you SHOULD play ME1 before playing ME2.
As you play with shepard throughout the series, you should build up your own character from very beginning, as it is a huge part of the series.
-
Could you import ME1 Shephard into ME2?
Think I just made a new one, importing just some quest status. Couldn't remember much of what I did in ME1 anymore anyway. Too much other gamez played between!
-
You can import your choices. If you just start a game without a me1 save, u get a bunch of fail choices!
-
lol u r funny

I was uncertain because i thought i had to play through ME1 to appreciate ME2 (alot of reviewers of the ps3 version thinks so). I only have a ps3 and a non game friendly laptop so ME1 (and up untill recently ME2) havent been available to me.
the point was this:
I really enjoy the game even though i havent played ME1. So for the ps3 gamers out there: go ahead and buy it, its a great game, and ME1 is not needed to appreciate it. maybe its even better if youve played through ME1 as well. i dont care.
-
It's a lot better!
-
didnt the ps3 get some kind of comic or whatever where you could quickpick the choices for your me2 playthrough? remember hearing some about that atleast
