Title: New Machine
Post by: Myogoblin on June 11, 2009, 11:14:19 am
Yo,

It's that time again for me to find a new machine. my old one died a death 3 months ago due the sheer abuse of me hating vista and the crappy nvidia SLI mode software crap (wish id gone ATi for the hardware now). but anyway, i need a new one and i don't want to build it, wastes my time and i need something decent to run games out there that are hungry for resources so they look top notch.

Any thoughts? I have Mac on the table as well here as I use it alot (got a dell mini 9 hackintosh i set up and love it). just not sure which model for gaming and if they really compare to windows performance (as much as i hate it ill get windows 7 which i can downgrade to XP free if it fails). powerful laptops also not ruled out :)

penny for your thoughts! (or euro cent...)

SLi may be horrible, but Crossfire has plenty of issues too. Dual GPU setups and headaches are unfortunately two peas in the same pod.

other post was nice but i hate building it myself, i prefer a nice 4 hours response time (best thing about dell that). was very interesting to see you can get a top spec box for about €800 so if that saves me a few hundred its worth doing and no doubt parts on dabs or scan or overclockers will do the job. my last one was a Mesh, was good but so damn crap on the support and it failed all the time with parts.

i think maybe just avoid dual cards this time and see what i can rustle up, a mac would defo be double the cost.
