Personal Information

My name is Paul Morrissey i live in Dublin,Ireland.
I am 25 years old finishing off a 4 year eletrical apprenticeship in 3 weeks.
I ride fixies in mean time when im not on wow.

I'm running no IMP might in my raid spec but if you need em to spec into it i can do.

Onyxia 25man:Cleared

I have a very small ammount end game content cleared because i rerolled realm to play with my RL mate.(joeburger)

I began in vanilla WoW on Ravenholdt with joeburger we both started together on alliance side both human warriors we had we didnt get to play vanilla WoW much because as we got closer to level 60 TBC just came out so we missed the old school raids but we raided at level 70.
After a good while playing as level 70 alliance warriors we both rerolled horde on wildhammer.I quit for a good while because i moved to australia and didnt raid the beginning of WoTLK but im back now and trying to progress as much as possible but cannot find a good raiding guild.So joeburger suggested i should apply to iron edge so here i am.

Why do you want to join Iron Edge?
To get back into the flow of raiding 10/25 raids and enjoying it,like i used to at 70
i havn't had the chance to raid 25 man yet because pugs are just dreadful and do not work most time you get the typical noobs who don't know what to do and are only out for items in raids .I'm out to raid with iron edge because i know and watched joeburger in raids with you when im in his house and it brings back memories of raiding end game content when i used to at 70.

What can I offer to Iron Edge?
I don't want to give you bullshit about imba dps and crap i can offer you a solid raider who attends raids on time prepaired and willing to wipe on the new content to finally down the bosses .

Last words?

I'm doing onyixa 10/25 toc10 trying 10 hc and ulduar 10/25 everyweek to try get a new weapon i just aint lucky i guess.

i'm saved to every raid this week cause i'v done them all bar EoE nothing good in there.and toc 25 cnt exactly do a good pug.

I'm working hard trust me on getting a new weapon i just got new boots and bracers.I will try my best to achive a new weapon and fast.

Is your spec supposed to be pve or pvp oriented? Because it is kind of odd in both cases.

You are a JC, but it isn't high enough to get prismatic gems. Also your meta needs 2 blue gems to activate, but you only have 1 blue gem equipped.

You aren't using Glyph of Consecration which is the biggest dps boosting glyph for a ret. Neither do you have the minor glyph of Sense Undead.

On a side note, you should really get the Emblems of Triumph retri libram since that is better than any armor upgrade you can buy.

Post by: bzr on October 26, 2009, 11:58:39 am: 1 my spec i redid it like yesterday quickly to a diff type i was trying out a pvpish spec so d/w its not my raid spec.My JC i actually am leveling was grinding for 3 hours in outland for adamantite ore/fel iron to prospect.
And the meta gem i am going to redo that meta do 21 crit 2% mana back so i can keep socketing with 20 str,and soon to be 34(3) with the dragon's eye epic ones.
And i will get that glyph of consecration/glphe of undead when i log in today also im actualy saving up to get that libram im on 11 badges triumph at.doing the daily hc everyday to get extra badges.

Post by: bzr on October 26, 2009, 12:57:34 pm: In a way yes i should be using it but i dont want to sacrifice a 20 str gem for a 10 str + 15 stam to fill a blue socket when i could be getting 40 ap from the 20 str instead of 20 AP and 150 hp.

i would like another ret pala in the raid as yoica is semi prot atm and if he can do the same damage aswell then it would only benefit us :)

I'm a ninja how ? i havnt been on this realm not long :S and i havn't ninjad anything ...

Also my spec mate since im not in a proper raiding guild i tend to go in and out of specs... due to i arena alot with joeburger and we test out diff specs. and i do not lie thats for sure.

We don't expect everyone that applies to be theorycrafting junkies, but some basic understanding of your class or in the case dpsing in general is required.

Ofc 21crit+3%crit dmg is better then 2%mana i av spent ALOT i mean alot of gold on gems/mats etc.. and i didnt av enough to redo it and get the chaotic meta+10str+15stam so i took a easy way to still get the 21 crit meta 2%mana but i will change it then since its a problem.every little bit dps helps.so i will get the chaotic and 10 str+15 stam in boots when i finish dailys.

UPDATE

I got the chaotic and 10 str + 15 stam in boots now.!

You didn't have to change ANY epics gems. All you had to do was your meta to [item]Relentless Earthsiege Diamond[/item] you already had all the gems to cover the activation requirement.

If you are joining us you need to pickup gear, so your dps can improve and we can be ready to steamroll Icecrown.
But we already have a pretty melee heavy raid so there is competition for the drops(I guess most people have their drops by now though) :)

I think we should get this guy personally another paladin is always handy, and I think he has been trolled enough.

btw didnt joeburger turn out to be rather useless :P

Also joeburger is such a good player he steamrolled bck in vanilla on his warrior he was the king of warriors on ravenholdt best id say :P don't know whats got into him now but hes a good player still .

PS. on good days, we have 7 healers, why aren't you bearing already, ipal?!?!?!
Be on monday for a trial unless Hugman has some unspoken points that would lead to a deny. He rarely does, though.

Yes, yes he did.

Anyway, as it stands we currently have one awesome Ret Pali in the Braid (Yoica) and one Holy with Ret offspec (Blackwhale); but it wouldn't hurt to get another Ret, if they do good dps.

The important part is doing good dps and being reliable. Having looked at your gear, its pretty poor, and i am sceptical as to how much actual dps you can do (though it is noted that you are working hard to improve it). Also our main Ret pali (who is regularly top of dps) and several others who play Ret's pointing out flaws in your gems/glyphs/enchants doesn't look good; be assured that they are doing it to help you improve your dps, not just to troll.

Anyway it all comes down to how you perform if we give you a trial. If you feel that you can do decent dps as your gear stands now, we can give you a trial, and you can prove your worth. Or you can spend a few more weeks puging it up to get a better weapon,rings, trinket etc, and then repost this application, and we can trial you then.

Either way, you need to be doing good dps. We are currently up to doing TOC 25 hardmodes, and don't have raid spots for people who aren't pulling their weight dps- wise, and i am not really willing to spend the time gearing up a class that we don't really need another of, unless their dps is excellent.

So be online tonight 7:15pm for a trial (if you think your dps is decent) or make a post and spend the next few weeks gearing up.

I have finally got [Dual-blade Butcher] and replaced my pvp trinket got 1 ring and still working on the next ring which wont take long.

I also got [trophy of the Crusade] the last time i raided toc so im going to save up 75 badges to get a new piece tier.
