Title: Christmas Competition, 2009
Post by: delling on December 15, 2009, 05:45:48 pm
Hi!

Iron Edge usually does *something* for the Christmas period, and this year it's a COMPETITION!

The prize is one of the following (the winner's choice):
* 10,000 gold OR
* A guild-invite to Iron Edge OR
* A run through 25-man ToC (as much loot as you can carry!)

How to enter:
Create something artistic to do with Iron Edge. It can be a video, a screenshot, an MS Paint drawing -- anything, it doesn't matter.

Please attach your entries if they are screenshots/paintings ('Additional Options') when posting, or give the link to your YouTube/Vimeo video. Entries can be here, or on the Dunemaul.org thread (http://www.dunemaul.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=17398), I will watch both. If your links/images don't work, they won't be judged.

The winner will be chosen by the members of Iron Edge, and announced sometime in January 2010. Competition closes 11:59 CET December 31 2009. The competition is open to anyone on Dunemaul, including members of IE.

Don't suppose you have any ... other ... methods of rewarding winners?

A full day spent with Jaca could be a reward ... or a penalty, depending on how you look at it. Do you penalize bad entries?!

It's famously hard to penalise people over the Internet... which is why trolls exist...

(Remember, as soon as someone invents a way to stab people in the face over the Internet...!)

   I though of an awesome idea for one, but I am to busy/lazy to do it myself. So feel free to use it, if you want the 10k gold, you whores, you.

   Basically its a montage of guild members original application posts, set to some soppy music (Barbra Streisand's "the way we were", is just the right mix of gay, and soppy). Having recently looked at some of our oldies applications, they are pretty awful, and it shows how far, (some of us at least) have grown.

You know it will be epic.

Still isnt finished since the actual ingame Rigor Mortis Aids film kept crashing on me. Even more sad that it's not finished since it became recent after Sterk( haai haaaaaaaaaai).

This was the teaser and the finish. Also includes a mini prize audio fragment of the best boss kill i was ever apart off. Credits to devlin for the soundbit.

Was the last sequence meant to hypnotise me? :P

Cute girls.

Damn that anthemic song. Hits all the right notes. Almost as good as the New Radicals song...

What were the other 8 items in the top 10?!

it has been a time !

But at last, i upgraded my pc, and re-activated my account. The 10k cash prize was seditious but since my gear is like crap atm, and something named Gear SCore came up, which makes it impossible to attend good (or even fail) Pug's ...

i think, between the 3 options stated there. i may ask for a 25 man ICC run ?  ::)
What do you think ?

you know that you get 232 and 245 gear from running 5man heroics?
Getting up to 5k gs is easier than you think.

Can probably do a 25-man ICC run -- but probably not Sindragosa or Putricide.

Wednesday!

i know 5k gs is not a big deal. But those 5man heroic drops gives no dps burst.

 i am going to craft some epics for 8-10 k gold. But still, it's going to take too much time to get in a decent icc10/25 run. The imba 5.6 to 6.2K puggers can't even pass Lord Jaraxxus on 25manToC Easy mode. So i think i will use the "emblem of christmass" for a special <IE>Run.
Wednesday, I'll be there.   :)

I have to warn you that you'll probably only get t10-264 tokens -- but there might be some i277 off-set loot that no one needs.
