Hay guys,
My names Ben, im 25, im an animation director, and i won a BAFTA for an anmation i made for nickeloden in novemeber 2009 XD .. sorry .. i litterly tell everyone that. In my time away from WoW, i play Ice Hockey, draw, and drink too much vocka (yeh you say .. there is never too much .. but when you drink a liter before you go out .. and cant remember a thing from leaving your house.. and wake up the next morning with no recolection of last night, with only cuts and brooses to say you went out .. i think thats too much XD )
If a few people are thinking .. hmm Gazgul ? looks familier... that because iv played on dunemaul for over 5 years (on the same orc warrior), and was invited to Iron-Edge back in the day when we where all doing wailing cavernes hah!
I know a few of your boyz already too, Mecckah (rich) was a good mate at uni (i know he left a while ago now) Sintrail (Vince) randomly met him in RL in a pub. mates ever since, ol Nachmanun and me met when we where wee little lvl 45's and known him since, and more recently Hugman who i leveled 70-80 with when wrath came out, and also your boi (whos account im using to make this app, authorization of making an account on this site is fail.. sorry to offend any one XD) Cojche, who got saved in my friends list a while ago as "IMBA HEALS!" heh

At the moment, i am 100% availible on tuesdays-thursdays, but i do have hockey training on mondays, but am willing to miss it if i get chosenen into the raid team for the evening.

Christ where do you start?
I think first game i played was either some Pong on some sh*t console my dad brought from a bootsale .. or mario bro's off my sisters boyfriends Nindendo...
Fastforward to 12. I get a megadrive ..and zomg its sweet .. altered beast and streets of rage........O.O axel is my hero!!!
Fastforward..diablo 2.. !!! diablo .. starcraft ..counterstrike (was in top 10 clans in the UK) EQ1..(lost alot of time to that one) Ultima (lost interest quickly).
Fastforward .... SOOOooOl calibur!! mate .. freaking love that game .. im literly unbeatable as Knightmare... i played my mate pissed out of my head about to pass out .. still beat him 23-4 mc'LOLZ
hmm .. i guess HL2 and CS-source.. then WoW (and my secret love of any thing dragonball related... TENCHIATCHI! .. er.. ehem)
So wow started for me in 2005 .. and for some moron reason i rolled a human warrior on a PVE server (i do have a massive soft spot for elwyn forest now though) .. got to 14.. got killed my the elites outside Uldaman .. Mate mates where rolling horde on dunemaul so i joined.
Rolled my Orc warrior Gazgul, has been my main ever since. Ofc i was a retard untill 60, i was with out mount until 54 and didnt get epic till 63...oh yeh .. totally spelt all my gold on blacksmith matts ;/ Stupid brd rep ...
Like i said before lvling like a noob .. some random invites me into ironedge when im in my teens.. i was in for probably 3 days before leaving to join my mate in.....wait for it ... do you remember these.....

Why do you want to join Iron Edge?
I have always had a high standered i expect and want to output when i play warcraft, and of course i know IE have the same standereds .. while also retaining a friendly and approachable atmophere. This is something i would love to be part of, i am in no means looking for hardcore raiding, but i do want to play with good, friendly players and see the content through to the end. And if your have me, i would love to do it with you guys.
What can I offer to Iron Edge?
I can offer BAFTA award winning help! Wether you need a tank for a heroic, or an extra body in a raid, im your guy. Im not going to lie .. im a freaking chatter box .. so be ready to get to know me in Vent .. kuz i kinda .. dont shut up XD
But i have almost 5 years tanking experiance, and am well knowledged in my class(s),
always willing to take advice, and i never take any comments to heart ( i guess thats how you have to be playing a tank :P)

Blood build seems fine but I'd advise losing mark of blood and sudden death and getting 3/3 in scent of blood.

Well ofc with dk tanks u get improved icy touch for some more -speed reduction on boss attacks .. always nice, hysteria on your ferral/warriors/rogues. and ez mode healing on me every minute for 30seconds :) (vamp blood) but yeh give me an email if u need to chat

I believe he is in a bit of a hard situation, you come highly recommended and have awesome gear, but we are not lacking tanks at all atm.
I am a tank too and I spend most of my times as cat these days :(

Ok, so here is the situation.
As for you application, its good. Your Tanking gear is pretty decent, and your tanking experience is very good. You also got several thumbs up from our guildies, and from the levelling experience I had with you, you get a thumbs up from me, as being a friendly decent dude! 8)
I myself would like a DK tank, as the are pretty awesome. The problem is we already have 3 tanks, one bear tank raider, and a warrior and paladin tank trialists (who are doing pretty good). We could take you on as our 4th tank, but since most bosses only need 2 tanks, and occasionally 3, it would mean that most of the time, we would either need you to go DPS, or go on standby. Because I know you are a born tank at heart, this would eventually chafe and you would become a sad panda. Also since our melee train's (and the two other dks we have) DPS is ridiculously awesome, you would be hard pressed to keep up with the DPS they put out. This would mean on heavy DPS requirement fights, we would ask you to sit out as DPS.
Also there is the Monday thing. I know you would normally have hockey training on Monday, but have changed this in order to try and raid with us. But then I would feel really bad if you made it go right to raid with us on Mondays, and then we had to sit you out; as that wouldn't be fair on you.
This is why Grilly and I have been holding back on giving you a straight answer, as I wanted you in, but we were trying to figure out how we could make it work. It basically comes down to what you are looking for in joining us. If you are happy just to raid 25 man and 10 man content with us, knowing that most of the time you may be needed as dps, and sometimes we would have you sit out on standby, etc, then it may work. But I don't want to bring you in, under false pretences that you will be tanking all the time.
The other alternative, is that we get you in as a F & F and you join one of our 10 man groups, and we take you in our 25man when we can.
One thing I have learned in leading this raid for over a year, is that you can never really have too many of one class or role. We have had several times when we have had several tanks who have been totally stable for months on end, and then something comes up, and then we suddenly need a new one.
Anyway it comes down to what you want in joining us. So let me know how you feel about this.
P.S. I just noticed that our bear tank has posted that he cannot make Monday's raid, so we could get you in for a trial in IIC for the first 4 bosses of IIC, but would have to put you on standby for the more DPS intensive fights (Prof, and Queenie).

Sintrael speaks highly of you, and if you have no ties with your current guild I'd like to see you with the guild tag post-haste! (I'm sure we'll be able to fit you in raiding somewhere). Perhaps you'll join the late night vent gaming crew, we play games and don't afraid of... much.

Maybe some rotation system, where every 3rd week myself and the tanks swap in,
IE: everyone rotors so its not always the warrior or what ever rotoring. This allows you not to feel guilty in not putting me in the raid squad, ill just go to ice hockey and take out frustration some ones face XD
I am also happy to sit out on harder progression bosses if my dps is holding you back, im very much a team player.
Prior warning on these occasions would be great.
Secondly, your correct i am a tank through and through, but i know my unholy spec well and dont mind dpsing (ofc ALOT of gear upgrades will be needed to keep up with your pewpew 7k DKs)
i have 2 hockey games on sunday, so pretty much not going training monday .. so i will be more then glad for you to trial my emo-dk in your icc run on Monday coming.
And late night vent is win... be warned .. i get rowdy after a few strongbows :p dont get offended .. im just messsing!! :D

I have been with my current guild for the last 3 years, but most of my mates i made from that guild have left so .. no reel ties any more.

Actually, I think it makes more of an impact if I only post on things I feel are necessary, rather than spamming comments on threads that don't involve me or which I don't care about.
But yeah, I'd never even heard of Abyiss/Gazgul before his application and I posted because I've heard only good things about him as player, and I feel he'd make a solid addition to the Iron Edge community.

Solid application but I think it's a really bad bad time to apply as a tank to B raid, there's 4 of us almost every raid, and Ildlar being the 4th tank is mostly moonkin if he gets a spot.
At this moment I am really unsure where would you fit, and recruiting someone to sit out most of the raids or recruiting someone just so you can cut/rotate your current tanks is hilarious.

i cant log on till 7.30 server most days. i work in london and its a 2 hour comute home :( so cant make that thursday time.
I also teach a character design + photoshop class on thurdsays so dont get home til 11pm 12 server :P
But if the offer to trail tank the 1st wing of icc 25 on monday is still up, i would like to take your offer up on this.
And then i guess take it from there.

Two hours commutes and raiding do not a good combination make, most raids kick off at 18:30 latest isn't it? Had to give up my raiding spot when I started commuting from Canterbury to London (soon over, thankfully).

You're pretty SOL with most major raiding guilds on European servers. Very few start as late as what would be considered sensible for us Island Monkeys. At least this has been my experience when I've been in guilds lead by others.
There are plenty of ten man groups, but a spot in one of these is very much a case of who you know and who likes you, and they tend to run at fairly anti social times.

my raid times are 7.30-12.00 uk .. but ofc if raids start an hour early whats a guy to do ! ;(( then its 6 hours sleep an off to work again :((

Yeah, bit of a Benny Hill moment there :P I wouldn't give up on seeing the end of Wraith, there are months to go before Cataclysm and so long as you're in a useful guild it's very possible to run a semi pug which won't blow goats. I haven't seen more than the start of it myself with pugs I've been in and tried running. All the smaller instances require is a few guys with patience who know what they are doing and a few with a clue who can listen.

The key is to find a job that doesn't have conflicting times. Or raid on American servers.

Raid time was 2am -> 7am, and lectures could start at 9...

Raid time was 2am -> 7am, and lectures could start at 9...
At the launch of EverQuest and a few months ahead, There was only US servers, even after releasing the game in Europe it took them a few months to realize that opening a Euro server wasnt that bad of an idea.
We did sleep on the other hand, during the day. :p

Ya, I have friends at university that failed their degree to a) playing in US guilds, and then b) playing when it was released in February in the EU.
February->May was the 'end grind' in the third year of university, so it came at quite a bad time :P

LOL yeh , i was quite lucky with the wow time scale, vanilla launched when i was in my 1st year.. didnt get to play much as i didnt have net at uni. but weeks where the awesome.
and TBC launced THE MORNING!!! i handed in my dissertation!!!! honestly that was one of the best days of my life .. working 24/7 on my disertation only to be greated with 2 weeks of hardcore wow, no sleep/eating/sunlight .. it was god mode!!!

well huggy (hugman) was saying times for the 10man where not 100% yet. So .. if the 10man raid team voted and decided to start at 7.30uk .. i can be your imba prosauce almost all 264 gear dk tank :)
but if not ... im still pondering wether to join as FoF and just bide my time and irritate people on vent with my drunk ramblings :P

So i think what would be the next step forward would be me getting forum member access so i can start signing for raids
(when ever they may be)
I also can get an arrangement with my boss to finish early monday and tuesday so i can make the 6.30 raid times if you still need a 25man tank/dps
