Title: Clash of the Titans
Post by: shankski on April 09, 2010, 01:59:50 pm
Went to see this in 3d yesterday, the film was pretty meh but it does have some awesome cgi, probably the only reason to watch it. The 3d was a joke as well, i think there was more 3d graphics in the trailers before the film than in the entire film itself. Also, the fights seem to get easier as they go through the film. Like they have a massive combat scene with scorpions but when it came to the final bosses and its like LOL zerg rush gg over in 2 mins.
Overall 4/10

How to convert an action movie in to a wow raid in 4 lines :)

Wasn't written for and directed in 3D at all. All done in postproduction cause of "lol avatar $$$". Like Alice.

Hopefully this will put the 3D hype to an end, but I doubt it..

Death to auto-tune, and 3D where it doesn't belong!

I don't see why 3D can't be on everything - that's the equivalent of "death to moving pictures where they dont belong". It's the hype that needs to go, not the actual technology :)

No, it makes the movies look bad! Take Alice for example.. The depth of field in the 3D frames made the film look too unreal to actually get the feeling going of a magical place (imo). I think it enhances the looks of green-screen made scenes - in a negative way, as in, the characters pops out a bit too much in the environments.

Also, I live in a country where everything is subbed. No matter how good my English is, I always read the subs, if they are there. The problem with 3D subs is that they are a seperate layer that kind of pops out of the screen, hence you lose focus on the movie when you read the subs...

But, it's good that there are 2D options for conservative people like me, until the technology evolves, or until directors figure out, how to use it "properly" :)

Regarding CoTT; the big newspaper reviewers in Denmark suggest people to go see it in 2D.

That was exactly what my niece said when she came back from watching it yesterday.

So it's the usage of the tech, not the tech itself, that's the problem still :P

This movie was about what I had expected from it. Nothing amazing, but an enjoyable watch. However, the 3D element was horrible. There are quite a few scenes where the 3D perception was just plain wrong.
