What's below the belt about that comment? SA sucked most of the first half, everyone who has seen the game knows it. In the second half they where playing way better and (imo)they should have deserved a victory but hey that's football.
Anyway we've just seen our first "play to not lose" game unfortunally.
So today's matches are the Greek vs South Korea, Messi and Co. vs Nigeria and England vs USA.
England should be able to win from USA easy and South Korea and the Greek are just fighting on who gets place 3 in the poule.
So i'm curious about Argentina vs Nigeria imo the 2 teams in group B which probably go through to the next round. Let's see if Argentina as a team is more then just good and is Nigeria capable of keeping Messi out the the match? (like Inter defenders did in the CL.)

On the whole Scotland wanting England to do badly, I think certainly from my point of view I feel that it's brought about because of the media, the tabloids and the commentators. This isn't just something Scots feel, but also the Welsh and Irish. The constant need to bring up 1966 at every oppertunity is sad and boring, everyone knows England won in 1966 but why the need to ram it down our throats all the time. all in all i thouht it wasa good solid performance for an opening game.
Terry pace was exposed a couple off times but as a team there was always someone there to cover it up so defence looked solid, Lampard was missing most off the game and like the last world cup he didnt perform at all i thought , Rooney ( Shrek ) was kept out of the game well by the yanks , every time he got ball they was on him in numbers as for Heskey he should be in the premier league never mind the england team its all well having someone up front who can lay the ball on or hold up play but if the opposing team is taking your main man out of the game your fucked if your other score option is heskey.
for fridays game i'd throw Defoes pace at them, push Gerrard out on the right with Barry in centre , lennon making runs down the left.
as for Green well if your main rival for the jersey is calamity james then you will end making sure you dont do the same things and with that much concentration on that its bound to happen, but i'd stick with him.
anyway what the hell do i know i'm a City fan and even i wouldnt have taken Wright-phillips over Walcot.

First half of the Holland-Japan was like England-Algeria game, very boring and not so good football. 2nd Half was gr8, but Holland is not even close to be as good as they should be with this team, and this game could have easily been 1-1 or even 0-1 to Japan. Hunt, the dutch playstyle is ("should") probably the least dependent on deep long balls. When they play as they should they do short quick passes at a high freqeuncy or down the side lines and curl along the goal for someone to head/kick in.
Well i mean down the side lines, i dont mean from Dutch goal down to Jap goal as in deep long balls :P

2nd half pretty much as good as first half of this game. Denmark scores a 2nd goal pretty much in the same fashion as the first, Cameroon just coming off a gr8 goal scoring opportunity but is slow running back and Denmark takes advantage and scores.
Denmark and Japan are now fighting for the last position to go thru to 1/16, gr8 that they are meeting each other as the last game of the grp then! :D

They were the better team initally but after the first goal they didnt stop but it atleast went down in speed etc. And it is known that Cameroon is lacking in the defense part of the game, and that we saw as 2nd goal was pretty much just cause cameroon was salcking behind etc.

When you are a retard and use BOTH HANDS to push the ball out of the goal you dont deserve a semifinal spot... They should srsly add the rule when they use their hands like that and at that position that it should count as a goal, cause if hadnt used his hands it would have been a clear goal and not a penalty and a redcard and a lose for ghana.
Well it's just a tactic. He used his hands to stop a goal, but he knew he'd get a red card and a penalty against it. So it's a tough decision. But I think it's 'fair play' to do so. He faced the consequences for it. Which is good, because there's not suarez in the semi-finals now ;D

imo the only questionable thing was when Puyol grabbed Robben..! In the books, all the "diving" incidents were faults, and it was decided before the tournament started, that the judges were supposed to be hard/just in all such cases.

Horrible match, both teams played way below average, but in the end Spain deserved to win. We have no right to complain about the referee either, because he should have sent de Jong off with a red card immediately (these fouls are only permitted against Christiano Ronaldo imo). Disappointing end to a disappointing tournament.
