Title: Civilization round 4
Post by: Tyler on June 19, 2010, 11:36:17 am
Round 3 kinda proved that the map was far too big. I vote for the next round we veer to the other extreme and use a tiny earth map!

Here is a good one that I have found http://forums.civfanatics.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=8180. Lets leave the new world civs, and the vikings who have rocked up in Australia, to the AI.

Sure thing.  Epic game speed?  And er remind me, what exactly is different about epic speed instead of normal?

That is a damn small map!

Think I'll have a go with Mali!

Epic means slower research and building ya. Normal is good for these small maps though.

Here is a really tiny earth http://forums.civfanatics.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=8179

This one is a bit bigger http://forums.civfanatics.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=12383

this one seems rather small for 7 players or so

Well, today was interesting!

Tiny map was a lot of fun. The second one is OK -- definitely an interesting map.

I'm almost all Civved out I think, though.

yeah I think I need at least a week or two off until I can muster up enough strength for more civ.

Sucks that it's so expensive.  £40 at game to pre-order :(

Civ 5 is £25 on Amazon!

I am cived out in the sense of playing 4 hour sessions. I think it would be quite fun to get a pitboss game going that we can do 2 turns a day on though.

This map on fast imo http://forums.civfanatics.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=8180. Banning new world civs and vikings. Palmar can't have the Mongols again!

Tyler -- there's some map pack that comes with Steam pre-order, I think. Is that with the boxed pre-order too?

That's only with the deluxe edition I think, which isn't currently available on steam (taken down recently).

Played on that 60x25 mini Earth map today, up to about turn 200.

Absolutely stomped the opposition... was at about 4,000 points when I finished, next player @ 2300 or so.

... but it was on Noble.

Pretty much did exactly the same thing. Since its such a small map, you pretty much only get 1-2 cities, until you conquer some, but when you do, the closeness of them, means you can easily go on a massive rampage. After two or so civ rapes, the rest start lining up to become vassals, and gg.

Ya! I constantly found myself with a stack of doom, looking at another enemy civ, just 5 squares away... splat.

that's pretty much the mongol tactic I used when we played that small map.

I like how "killing delling = untactful".

And if you mean that incident with raping your womenz, then... well...

erm...

YEAH FUCK YOU.
