Might now be news for some of you.. but maybe for some!
Yesterday I realized that you can download a free awesome NES emulator from Market that doesn't lag (!), and play NES games on your Android phone.
1. Grab Nesoid Lite from Market (I have no clue what the difference is from Lite and non-Lite, but if you are from Scandinavia, you'll only see Lite, except if you find the full version of some other site or through Aptoid repositories)
2. Go to http://www.theoldcomputer.com/roms/index.php?folder=Nintendo/NES/USA and download games. Make sure they end with *.nes once you've downloaded em'. If not, rename them with Astro (or similar), or on your PC.
3. Start Nesoid and load the .nes fil(es) stored on your SD-card.
4. Enjoy your restroom visits more, than before!

SEGA Emulator also exist for free and SNES for free, even Playstation One emulator exist, tho the Playstation One is not free, and costs 9 dollars or something.
Edit: http://www.coolrom.com/ is a good romesite too. Just checked market, and Droidemulite plays all gameboy and nes/SNES, pretty much all in one
-
On another note, if you are tired of HTC(if you have an htc) not giving their built in video player xvid/divx support, you should all download Rockplayer from the market, there are 3 diff versions depending on your phone.
-
Sweet! I'll try and write up a review for my day job :)
-
Nes/Snes and Sega runs Very nice, only thing is that the control pad takes up space on the screen thus if you have a smaller screen fingers may block the view.
-
For what it's worth, games like Streetfighter are really bad on my phone -- because I don't have a multi-touch screen :P
-
It might not be the screen dell, as some phones can gain multi touch if you gain root access on it. What Android is it running, 1.6,2.0/2.1 or 2.2? and what phone is it?
By gaining root access you can flash the phone with a custom ROM of android, and gain alot of stuff that the phone doesnt have as standard, such as being able to buy apps on the market, some countries cant do that, sweden being one...:P
-
Yeah, no 2.2 ROM for mine yet, I think. It's a crappy LG GT 540.
-
From what ive found its VERY easy to gain root to your phone, Delling. But there is no custom roms yet i think, atleast nothing i could find, but i also think you are running 1.6 and that LG is updating to 2.1 soonish, might be wrong. So maybe after the 2.1 update there will be some custom roms made for it.
Edit: More specific September for 2.1 for LG, from diff sources.

my wildfire doesn't want to download apps, it just says "starting download" :(

I think i found the solution to your problem vorte, the 2 last posts in this thread http://androidforums.com/htc-wildfire/129477-htc-wildfire-android-market-wont-download-apps.html
You just need to register a gmail account and then tell the phone to you use that. Or maybe any email dunno rly, in this thread they used gmail as thats the standard in the HTC Phones cause its Android and Android is google :D But i use my hotmail in my Desire and everything works.

Just updated to Nesoid 1.12.5. The game screen is large and the controls are less invasive. Sweet!
-
Firefox just rlsed its Stable Alpha for Android and Nokia N900, its called Fennec.

Edit: The download link in this blog doesnt work for Android, neither on Computer or the Phone. But you can find the .apk file here https://wiki.mozilla.org/Mobile/Platforms/Android

Cool, I'll definitely try it. Dolphin HD was really buggy and Opera lacked alot of functions, so I'm still using the standard browser (which isn't bad at all).
-
Tried Firefox earlier, its cool with all its functions, addons, more then 4 tabs at anytime etc, but as its still Alpha its quite buggy still. Pinch-To-Zoom is very bad atm, and wtf, it takes like 35mb of space...

Yea, definitely has bugs.
I finally got 2.1 on my shitty little phone, but sadly FF4 still doesn't run :)

That means your phones company is better then Sony Ericsson, who instead of updating x10 from 1.6 to 2.1, rls x8 with 1.6 :P
