well... I think theyre in future? about 2020 or so...? Havent seen any episode of atlantis thou :)

In the future?

Well in 1994 the movie said "present day" when they go through the stargate. and sg1 starts in 1997 and is running the 10th season. So I would say its still supposed to be present day.

Atlantis is a spinoff and is running in parallel with sg1. The wow-geek is actually an sg1 regular, they like to crossover a lot.

Edit: yes I watch too many scifi-series

ohh.... Ive watched SG-1 seasons 1-7 long long time ago. Should watch again apparently :)
