Title: New Monitor for my gaming PC
Post by: Rucious on January 11, 2011, 02:38:39 pm
Please check the specifications of the monitors if you have time and then decide which one you'd pick. I'd be happy if you could help me which one I should pick.

BENQ (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-043-BQ)

LG (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-091-LG&groupid=17&catid=1851&subcat=)

ASUS (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-021-AS&groupid=17&catid=1851&subcat=)

Also, I'd like to sell my current monitor, which is Samsung 24" (http://www.trustedreviews.com/monitors/review/2008/08/20/Samsung-SyncMaster-T240HD-24in-DTV-Monitor/p1), I'm happy to have the offer via pm and I'd like to sell it to ones who lives in UK :).

Thanks

P.S: Your comments are appreciated.

From what I could find on the internet, I'd go with the Asus.

I also opted for the Asus.

The 100000:1 Contrast Ratio, 400 cd/m? Brightness on Asus and

the 10000000:1 Contrast Ratio, 300cd/m? Brightness on Benq, (LG is lower than both)

makes really much difference or not?

Aren't those values kinda academic/artificial, as they are taken by some arbitrary contrast switch. I wouldn't pay too much mind on those figures.

Also, just throwing this one out there: why not keep your current monitor, retard?

Asus ofc.
Personally I prefer Philips monitors but there are no 3d that I could find. LG is always a last option, I hate their screens since colours aren't great. I have never used BENQ but I saw couple of them in shops. Design is hilarious and plastic they use looks rather cheap...

I live in campus right now, the desk is so small and I won't have enough space for studying. If I was at home I'd keep it, but can't. Also I've a laptop as well.

Yes, but why are you selling this one?

Smor -- LG and Samsung make most of the panels that are used by other brands, afaik. There aren't THAT many panel manufacturers!

To replace with 3D one?

I play on a Samsung 3D monitor, but I must say. It's not as great yet. I'd wait a year or so for most of the bugs to go away. And for games  to really support 3D gaming.

I had a great offer on the screen, so it was as cheap as buying a normal monitor. But I wouldn't pay the full price on one, it's just not good enough yet.

I like LG monitors, I've had one since forever and never had any complaints :)

Friend once ordered a benq monitor online, and when he found out it had some dead pixels, he had to wait 3 weeks for a replacement :(

So I bought Asus, and its pretty amazing. I just need to figure out how to enable 3D right now. Also, still selling my old Monitor.
