Title: Shaman and Warlock Application.:)
Post by: Kerenza on January 12, 2011, 07:11:03 pm
Hi!

So.. where to start! A bit of WoW background on us first I guess..

We've both played since Vanilla, and when arena was introduced in TBC, we actually did pretty well. I achieved s2, s3 and s4 Gladiator on my (ahem) druid, whilst Sheesh (more respectably) achieved s2 and s3 Gladiator on his shaman and rogue (held rank one on blackout on his shaman for some time, but had it brutally stolen in the end). His rogue also managed to gain High Warlord, which nearly killed him. :3 This was on both Blackout and Cyclone battlegroups. Whilst he can prove his 'claim to fame' via armory (Kyreed and Kelyk), I sort've .. uh .. 'gave' my account to a brand new owner when we quit a short time after Wotlk came out.. (that's what they all say, I'm sure.)

Then, as happens to many, I had a WoW itch when I saw Cataclysm.. and after several weeks of it being released, suggested that we give it another try.. and so, my shaman was RAF'd up with his current Warlock character, and here we stand now. (And, of course, we lost out on the TB honour bug .. /cry)

Gotta admit, the pvp is VERY different to how it was in TBC .. (warriors are still disgusting!) and we've not exactly 'fallen' back into it as we hoped we would. The damage and burst continues to be a bit of a shock, and we're finding that we're having to relearn and adapt to combos that we previously would have completely stomped. We're only hovering around 1800 in 2s at the moment, but hope to get that up once my gear improves a bit more. (I'm running 3.4k resi, but still farming for rings/cloak/neck etc.) 3s we're at 1750ish, playing with a random (skilled and friendly) rogue we whispered from trade; 2/3 dps tunnelling you is not much fun, I can tell you that! (happens EVERY game...)

We also would love to give Rated Bgs a try, and are not the type to sit in mid 'LOL PWNING' the 200k hp paladin tank as the enemy flag carrier /lol's his way past us back to his base.  We understand the importance of tactics, the boring but crucial joy of defending, calling incs, announcing efc location, etc. We know how to listen and respond quickly. We know how to juke, kite, when to fight back and when to flee, and when to suicically throw yourselves to the sharks as bait so that your FC can get the hell away and then mock your stupidity on TS after.

Both of us play SC2 and some MW2, but the vast majority of our game time is spent in WoW. We're a couple of Swedes; I am currently studying, and Sheesh has a full time job. We're both active players, and share an apartment.

IE seems like a brilliant guild, and is exactly what we're looking for. I hope you'll give us a chance to prove ourselves as we gear up against the rush. Please do feel free to ask if you have any further questions. :)

Hope to hear from you soon!

Kerenza and Sheesh!
(would link armory but, of course, shock horror, it's not working!)

Oh, right. Uh. Ha.

I'm playing resto right now, and Sheesh is affliction.
... Probably should've mentioned that in the original post, right? :<

Pretend I did!

Here's a question... what are your names? :)
Title: Re: Shaman and Warlock Application.:)
Post by: Kerenza on January 12, 2011, 07:20:42 pm
Sarah and David. 26 and 27 respectively.  8)
My bad, should probably have included a bit more of the rl stuff as well, seeing as IE seems more of a community setting than a guild!

Awesome, we need more scandinavians :)

I'm curious though; what've you guys been doing throughout WotLK?

Neither of us played it.. just played different games. I 'got rid' (cough) of my account after TBC, telling myself that I would never play again because of the time drain.. Was a while ago now, so that's actually a sort've tough question to answer! Everyday life, I guess.. I can vaguely remember getting stuck into FF8, Dragon Age and more recently, Amnesia: Dark Descent. I was working full time, so didn't really have the time for a game as time consuming as WoW.. when I came home, I wanted to relax and simply hit 'save' when I was done, not deal with the frustration of arena pvp! David was concentrating more in the job he has now (sales). However, now we're both more settled and sorted, and have more free time again, we're ready to deal with and learn the horrors of Cata PvP.  ;D

Additionally, I want to point out.. I know you guys probably aren't massively interested in a couple of (essentially) new players relearning the ropes.. and believe me, that really, REALLY stings my pride to say. Horribly, horribly much.

I'm just requesting that you please give us a chance/trial to prove ourselves so we can show that we're not actually baddies. Fair enough, and no hard feelings at all, if we're not what you're wanting or looking for at this point.. but I really do feel we could bring a lot to IE if given a sniff of a chance. We feel very boxed in where we are now, and to be able to play with like-minded people and expand our oppurtunities would make the game actually feel fun again.

Ooh, didn't know there was a Cataclysm Zero Punctuation! *goes to watch*

In other news: no armory link, no favorite pokemon, and no pics. You are pushing your luck...

OMG , no favourite Pokemon!?!?! What colour do you think a guild tabard should have?

Armory wasn't working yesterday. :<
Is now!

As for Pokemon...

CLEARLY. He should also be on the guild tabard. In RAINBOWS.

Vorte, we kind've don't want to be a total freaking let down just yet, and rogue shaman warlock still clearly does work as exampled by Glyptic, Draintrain and Boozt.. we're doing something wrong, so we need to learn! Our rogue sadly can only play weekends right now as he's stuck into exams, but he's also a nice guy and we don't wanna abandon him either. But thank you for the vote of confidence. <3

I approve of this application, thanks for the heads up on that Zero Punctuation review of WoW: Cataclysm. You seem like nice players with a positive attitude and would be a great addition to the community. Good luck. Why did you join Goons? :P

How good are you @ starcraft?

@Zero Punctuation
He is surprisingly neutral with his review, it is almost like... he liked the game

Joining Goons ... as I said, we're new on the server, and got tempted by Toi's 'best pvp guild on the server' claims that spam /2 every day. (Ha.) My shaman has 6 days /played heh. No offense to the guys, there are some really nice people in there, but we get the feeling that the entire guild is set up so that the DK GM can achieve a decentish Rated BG for titles. That's actually the reason we haven't yet done any .. neither of us want to feel like a couple of pawns, and he actually raged on us when we turned him down when we were in the middle of an arena game. Go figure.

Palmer: Hover between gold and platinum, but not so active there right now.. Most of our time is in WoW. :)

Cheers.

Well, I've really abandoned the whole pvp part.

But judging by the few posts so far on these forums you seem like a good fit to our guild. Pleasant attitude goes a long way. Also, l2starcraft.

If the pvp part doesn't take you in, I think we could easily squeeze you in through the community recruitment part. Just need to leave this open to see if people object. And we need Therash to get in here and reply!

Hey, thanks for your (nice) application!

I don't really see why you wouldn't be able to play some games with Vorte! It's not like you'd be abandoning your rogue friend. It'll be a great way to show us your skills. Your application and replies suggest that you know a lot about the game, I like that.

We'll be doing 15man rated battlegrounds with the A-team Sunday afternoon, will you guys be able to join?

Well.. it's just, our rogue apparently had high rating before, but the dude who was leading the team booted him out before he got his title/mount. This was followed by him achieving a 3 day ban because he raged at a GM who refused to restore his personal. We don't want to shit on the dude anymore than he has already been. That said, we could do some with Vorte if it's a 'skill tester' you're wanting.. I would actually love to try that combo.. I just feel guilty as all hell for our rogue, so we would most likely continue playing with him also until he's had enough or is able to find another team!

And yes, we would friggin' love to. :)

You see, IE only exists to get me to the highest echelons of RBG ratings -- but it's all set up much more intelligently, so you'd never realise.

Already looking forward to it!

And to be quite honest, we just sort've assumed he was a bored little kid who came up with a clever, self serving idea. As a couple of server noobs, we've just sort've put up with it so far whilst trying to find a home that's not quite so.. you know. Problem is the last time they did rated BGs, we got to watch the fireworks as he got raged at by another guildie because apparently, and I quote, "you just sat like a tard and farmed honour in mid", to which he replied "I like farming, f winning!"

That went down well, haha, so not sure how much longer it will last. :P

We shall leave you with this irl moonkin!

Anywho, see you Sunday! Will suggest to Spets that he should maybe try an app here as well, so thank you for being open minded about him too.  8)

Jugo and Toitoi are really bad people.  They're both no longer members of IE for very good reasons!
