Title: Skinkelinke, Mage
Post by: Skinkelinke on January 20, 2011, 01:49:08 pm
Personal Information

I am Henrik Hammarstr?m, a 30 year old guy who works as a sales manager in the telecom market. I have 2 kids, one that?s only 5 weeks old and one that?s 2,5 years old. I?m married, have a house and problaby earn up to every ?adult point? there is. I live in a small suburb to Stockholm called Huddinge.

I?m calm, friendly and I always help out when someone needs a hand. I am also the type of person who can?t do stuff half way, I always do stuff 100%. I am a very competitive person who always tries my best, my competitive side is the main reason for me playing a DPS character.

Character Information

My main is called Skinkelinke, a lvl 85 goblin mage. This is my second mage at max level. I also have a level 75 tauren druid called Zummigummi. My character is pretty much enchanted, reforged, glyphed and gemmed as it should be. I am however going to do some changes, like: power torrent on my wep and put all stats 20 instead of 15 when maelstrom crystals are a bit cheaper (or when I get an epic in that slot).

My mage is currently speced frost and fire. Frost for higher surv+better single target DPS and fire for multiple target fights. The layout of an encounter and my expected role determines what specc i go with. I do keep myself updated and tend to change my gear and spec to maximise dps.

Raiding

I can raid 2 nights a week, does not really mather wich ones as long as they stay the same. I?m ready to make first pull at 20:00 those nights.

Gaming and World of Warcraft history

I have been playing video games since 1986 something, got my first Nintendo when I was about 6. My first contact with online games where year 2000 when I started playing the game counter-strike. I am the type of person who can?t do stuff half way so I quickly became pretty good and got to play with some semi elite clans in Sweden.

I started playing wow a couple of months after release with an IRL friend. Since it was my first MMO the travel time to 60 was long. Once I hit 60 I started doing Strat and the other level 60 dungeons and got in to a group with Kaos and a couple of other Iron Edge members. Kaos invited me to join IE and a couple of weeks later I joined up for Iron Edges first raid ever. I didn?t know shit back then and after dying in the lava down at MC a couple of times because the portal didn?t work I realised that you needed to do something called a prequest....

After this I went offline for a couple months and found myself removed from IE due to inactivity. I started doing alot of PVP and got the title General. I was really close to the Warlord title the last week but since I started a new job I didn?t get it. I started doing MC with a friends guild instead of PVP and progressed through everything but Ragnaros.

Then the expansion came, I levelled to 70 and cleared Karazhan and Gruul before joining up with In Flames. I quickly became an officer in the guild. With In Flames I cleared magtheridon, SSC, TK, MH and BT before nerfs. I never played Sunwell though.

All trough my raiding history I have become an Officer in the guilds I played in and I always topped the DPS charts. I try to bring my best every single time I play and I tend to succeed. I rarely fuck up, I stay alive and do the DPS that my gear allows me to. I always work for the raids progression and the reason for me raiding is that I like the progress part and the new kills. Gear really isn?t that important to me, it?s just something that you need in order for the raid to perform. I find progression raids a lot more stimulating and fun then farm raids.

Another big thing that?s bringing me back to the game is the social part which I really have missed being away from the game.

Why I want to join Iron Edge

I have been following IE for a long time and the players within the guild have always had a friendly attitude and they know how to play this game. You have a big and strong community of players which I see as a huge benefit. I?m positive that IE would give me what I want out of this game.

Being 30 years old I also see it as a benefit that your average age is pretty high. To me it is important with an calm and mature atmosphere and I believe IE is a place where you can find that.

What can I offer Iron Edge?

I offer a guy who always helps out, who is friendly, mature and dependable. I offer you someone who knows his class and keeps himself updated of both the game in general and his class.

I offer a dedicated person who always work with the guilds best in mind and always try to contribute to the guild.

Last Words

I am not really sure where I fit in (B raid, AB, C raid e.t.c.), but since you have new 10 mans popping up 24/7 I?m guessing that?s not going to be a problem. However I am not in a rush and don?t mind waiting for a team to come up and be social mean while.

I?m an IRL friend with Lagom, holy paladin that?s also going to make an application. I do want to play with him this expansion so you should consider our applications together. Some of you may know him from the old PVP days where he played with a mage called Fettnice.

I talked to Palmar a bit on IRC today and Tylers team sounds really interesting to me if there is a spot for a Mage and a holy paladin.

Thanks for taking the time to read my application, don?t hesitate to ask if you have any questions.

/Henrik Hammarstr?m

Very nice application, best of luck. Atm, The Gentlemen's Club is full on dps, as much as we could do with a mage right now I can't offer you a 100% trial. However, I can put you down as a backup, if you don't get a 100% raid spot offer immediately and are still interested in joining the community. Or if any of my dps decide to flake, I'll be in touch about a more permanent spot on a 100% basis, but they are all very stable for the time being and atm I only have one very reliable backup. Anyway, catch you around!

My application equals that I want to be a part of IE regardless of guranties to raid. I am however pretty sure that I will get to raid in cataclysm as a part of IE.
Alt runs in the future, part of a 10 man now or even setting up and leadning my own 10 man, either one works for me :)

Mekky pointed out earlier you have expertise on your gloves, btw! (he's too scared to ask on the forum, he's a slacker and a coward! <3 )

Impressive app though, good luck! :D

Great app, old school players always have a bit of leverage.

No matter the raiding situation, I would like them in the guild.

He's a melee mage, guys. Like Gandalf.

(Has anyone got that screenshot from MC, with 10+ rogues? Maybe Skinkelinke is in it.)

Don't forget, Inner Fire used to increase priest AP. We could hit seriously hard with our wands -- and when you got Benediction... dang -- it was 60 DPS!

I finally decided to try casting some fireballs again after 4-5 years of absence… It began with me just testing the client, testing leveling a mage 1-10, paying for the account and logging in to the old mage and eventually paying for legion.

For those not knowing me please feel free to read up on my history in the beginning of this thread. In brief I started playing games 30 years ago, started wow 13,5 years ago actually attending Iron Edges first Molten Core raid (didn’t actually enter the instance since I didn’t know shit about attunements).

Did some serious PVP in Vanilla, some serious raiding in TBC and then sold my account for good money. Missed WOTLK and then joined Iron Edge in Cataclysm raiding with c-raid and then ending up raid leading B-raid along with Yoica and Graxlos. In Mist I just played a bit casually doing LFR and helping B-raid from time to time.

I am 37 years old and live in a house south of Stockholm with my wife and three kids. Kids are age nine, seven and four so it is full speed when at home. I exercise a lot, done 7 marathons with a personal best of 3:12.

Professionally I work as Sales Director for Large B2B customers for the operator Telia selling Datacom, fixed/mobile traffic, IT-services, Contact Center, switchboards and all those sorts of things. Have 5 sales teams with 55 employees and 180M euro annual revenues. Work is pretty demanding not really lending me much time for games.

In periods family, work and exercising keeps me busy from day to night but from time to time I have 30minutes to play some PS4, Clash Royal or some other causal game. So, getting the urge to throw fireballs (or frostbolts) I would like a cool place to hang out with old friends whom I missed a lot over the years even though we are connected on Facebook.

Hoping to get in on a social spot with my super cool frost mage that is currently level 104.

(my jokes are great, do not listen to people saying they are not)
