I was expecting Medieval 3 or some game places in late medieval times. With technology and naval battle features i never imagined that they will go for Rome II instead of Medieval-age game.

But in the other hand Total War series significantly improved itself with Shogun 2 and FoTS (especially AI and diplomacy). I just can't imagine how great this game is going to be!

Judging from the trailer we get lifelike graphics and stabbing and throatcutting

I'm not basing this off anything but from what I've ever heard from my older RL friends and just from 4chan etc in general

Rome Total War seems like the most popular of the series. I'm surprised they did Shogun 2 tbh

They're just doing it in order, I guess? Shogun pre-dates Rome...

Also, Shogun is simpler than Rome -- so kinda makes sense they would refine the engine/mechanics with Shogun 2, then iterate on that for RTW2.

I reeeeeally want RTW2. RTW1 is probably my most-played game ever, outside of WoW.
