Hello, Iron Edge!
I am applying for the main raid.
Character: Amstrupp
Armory: http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/Kazzak/Amstrupp/advanced
Class/Spec: Mage (DPS)
Member Type: raider
Personal Info:
Christian Petersen, 21, Denmark. Works as a salesman at the moment, likely to start on my education in Feb. 2017 (As a software developer). I'm usually a very energetic and happy guy when it comes to my hobby that is WoW, but have recently started losing interest in raiding, due to some personalities in my current guild. And since I'm very fond of the game, and want to dedicate alot of time to it, I'm trying to get away from all the "toxic".
Class/Spec:
MS: Fire - 871 (Legendary boots), 870 without.
OS: Arcane - 870
I started the expansion out as an Arcane mage, but was forced to reroll as I played during the "100 stack & Tempest"-build was viable. For progression, it wasn't very helpful to have the sort of tunnel-vision you would get from playing an Arcane mage. And the DPS wasn't very reliable. One mistake and you could kiss your stacks of Quickening goodbye, aswell as most of your DPS.
Now I'm mainly fire, with the occasional "Mages gone wild" mythic dungeon as arcane. Playing fire spec leaves you with alot more excess focus to be ready for tactics, interrupts, etc. With possibilities to do both massive AoE and ST dmg, fire is the most viable, in my opinion atleast. Though I'm working on my frost spec, it's still alot lower in artifact level, + my gear is build around fire.
For fire, there are a few key rules;
Never fire a phoenix flame without being under the influence of RoP.
Try as often as possible to cast a fireball if you have a Pyro proc avaliable. (The game is coded in such a way, that if atleast one of them crits, you will get a heating up proc without the non-crit spell canceling it. This is only if the 2 spell are cast at the exact same time.)
Hit atleast 4 out of the 6 cinders if using CiS, for it to be worth it.
To start from the beginning;
My opener is abit delayed as I use both CiS and the trinket from Ilganoth (Wriggling Sinew). At anywhere between 3 and 5 seconds before pull, I pop my trinket. Then Pre-pot at 1,9 seconds. Then pre-cast fireball. If using TW, I pop that as soon as that fireball is done casting. Again, if using TW I cast RoP, then CiS, and just before CiS hits the target, I use combustion (This is to get 5 stacks of Pyretic Incantation). If not using TW, I fire another fireball to be sure my trinket procs while I still have both combustion and RoP up. At this point, I can either have a Pyro-proc, a heating up-proc, or nothing. If I have a Pyro-proc, I go right into my burst phase right as I pop combustion. If I have a heating up-proc, I cast a fireblast off, right after I pop combustion. If I have nothing, then I go RoP, CiS, Comb, fireblast, phoenix and then just go as I normally would.
Burst phase:
Pyro, FB, Pyro, FB, Pyro, Flame on, FB, Pyro, FB, Pyro, Phoenix, Pyro (+ Phoenix, Pyro - If using TW)
While I prefer using CiS and use it 95% of the time (Makes Comb line perfectly up with my trinket), I get a "light"-burst phase, which is basicly just popping RoP when flame on is off CD and firing all my phoenix flames.
My stat-prio is Crit > Int > Ver > Mast > Haste
Alts:
http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/magtheridon/Aetheroz/simple - A Feral/Resto druid on another realm.
Professions:
I have tailoring. Like an idiot.
Raiding Experience:
Started early October 2014 as more "serious" raiding. Never commited alot to the game before that. Went 12/13M in HFC. Current progress is 3/7M EN. Played a mage throughout all of it.
Previous Guilds:
Started in Moo in Black - Kazzak; Left as my RL started getting very toxic and hypocritical, alongside alot of the players seemed aggressive and I lost my will to raid more and more.
Next up was Desecrated - Kazzak; It disbanded overnight. They tried to rebuild it, but from my point of view, all the good and friendly ones went their own way.
Current guild is Issues in Tissues - Kazzak; My will to raiding is very rapidly in decline. Alot of the players are hard to get through to and it's starting to feel abit like a dictatorship. There's no communication and it's gotten to the point where noone in the raid likes to get feedback from another player. I've even gotten to that point, and it annoys the hell out of me...
Availability:
Well, I'm not avaliable the 24/12-16, but that's basicly it! I spend alot of time in my appartment and mainly goes out to work or see friends. But both of these are very often scheduled in good time, as I like to have an overview of what my days looks like. I've tried twice in the last two years that I had to go on short notice.
Communication:
In my own opinion, I'm quite good at english. Both written (As my language above might display), and verbally. I have a good microphone, good headset and also have TS3.
Computer / Connection:
Specs: i5 6600 processor. 8 GB ram. NVIDIA GTX 970 Graphics card.
My internet connection is 70/50 and VERY stable.
Addons/UI:
http://imgur.com/eMW7lVN
Weakauras, DBM, ElvUI
All keybinds are shown, but keep in mind that I use a Razer Orbweaver. I have a completely custom keybind-setup, and for example; F8 isn't hard to reach on that.
Other Games:
Not that much else anymore. Used to devote alot of hours into Runescape (I KNOW, I KNOW). But, of course, there's the occasional LoL and Rocket League games.
Why Iron Edge?
I was looking for a raid with 2 raid days and stumbeled upon you on WoWprogress. There was just something about the wording in your description that made it seem like you would be able to re-kindle my love for the game and raiding.
What can I offer Iron Edge?
I put my time into my class(es). I like to sit and fiddle with either my gear, UI or addons and then going through content trying my changes out. This means I'm always trying to better myself. A few years ago I made a comment without thought to a co-worker; "I hate being mediocre". At the time I couldn't understand why I would make such a comment, but over the years I've learned that it's actually true. I like being the guy that gets the interrupt, that soaks something, etc. I like to be reliable. And if I'm not anywhere close to being an important part of a roster, then I'm starting to work on it ASAP! I spend alot of time looking at logs, doing sims and so on. And I actually like doing it, that's the best part! Oh, and besides that; I'm a delight! (I think..)
Where did I hear about Iron Edge?
WoWprogress, trade spam back in WoD
Last Words?
<- That sounds like a line out of a movie?
Oh, and my XMog game is lit AF

Hi Amstrupp!
Pretty good application, experience and gear seem to be in order as well. I'm gonna poke our ranged officer and see what he thinks :)

Woah Rash,
Are you sure you tolerate another Dane? I know you struggle with Grax so this would double your headache 😂
Nice application though good luck.

Hiyo,
As has been stated before, this is quite a good application. There is the obvious flaw with you being a Dane that I guess we'll have to deal with, but every raider comes with their own set of baggage I suppose.
On a more serious note, the competition for the raid is quite high - particularly so for the mages. Currently we have 3 of them that we are doing our best to rotate in and out in between pulls based on performance, but it does seem like you'd enjoy rather than despise being in a competitive environment. Depending on the encounter and performance there may be some standby time, just so that you are aware of it.
If all of this seems alright, you are more than welcome to poke me or any officer in-game and we can give you a go :)
