Title: Raider Application - Paladin (Healer) - Hollyguard
Post by: Applicant on July 23, 2018, 02:39:53 pm
Hello, Iron Edge!

I am applying for the main raid.

Character: Hollyguard
Armory: http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/Kazzak/Hollyguard/advanced
Class/Spec: Paladin (Healer)
Member Type: raider

Personal Info:

I'm Petar, 26 from Macedonia. I work as a full stack developer and have been working for 3 years now after finishing university.

Class/Spec:

My main spec is holy and has been since the day that blizz gave us paladins for the horde. I even leveled mostly as holy in TBC :). All my specs are between 245-250 equipped with ret being my "main" OS. I keep up to date with all 3 specs and am 100% comfortable with playing them in mythic raids, although i always prefer NOT to tank :).

Holy paladins have remained mostly unchanged in regard to their stat prios after pre-patch hit, but it goes crit>mastery=vers>haste. As a healer rotation isn't really a thing but it's basically using Holy Shock and Light of Dawn on CD (or holding them 1-3 seconds if you are expecting big ST or AOE dmg respectively), using the procs from holy shock on Holy Light or Flash of Light, depending on the damage the target took and the mana % you are at at that moment. CDs i assume are coordinated by the raid leader so their usage cant really be explained as part of the rotation.

Alts:

In Legion i have been leading multiple healing teams in multiple guilds and that required me to know how every healer works, so i have all healing classes and my main alts who have seen a lot of mythic progress and kills are my resto shaman (main alt) and my resto druid (alt alt?). My priest is the healer that i always enjoy playing with the monk just not getting a lot of love from me :).  My alts will be linked in order of preference going into BFA.

Professions:

I have all professions maxed and my BS on my rogue has almost all vanilla recipes + a high warlord title dating from Vanilla :).

Raiding Experience:

I have been raiding on my holy paladin since TBC and have cleared all content in their respective patches and almost all before significant nerfs. My main has always been the holy paladin and i hope it remains that way even tho i feel kind of gimped with the pre-patch... :D. I was raiding HC 4-5 days a week in TBC, WotLK and Cata and have cleared all content on the highest difficulty. In MoP i returned in time for SoO and cleared it on the highest difficulty with a 3 day raiding guild and ever since i have been interested in 2-3 raiding days since that allows me to balance my social, work and gaming life. WoD i skipped mythic raiding since everything about it made me cringe, but i atleast cleared HC for the "story". In Legion i have all cutting edge and as i mentioned, i was a healing coordinator/officer in most of the guilds i've been in.

Previous Guilds:

Every time i leave a guild its either because the guild disbands or decides to stop raiding mythic due to lack of players, except for the last guild i was in - Potential. The reason why i'm leaving is that they are disorganized and they lack leadership, and i basically didn't see eye to eye with some of the people who tried to step up as leaders since i felt they were taking the guild in the wrong direction.

Availability:

I have flexible work hours but i usually tend to go in the office as early as possible. My days include work then some cooking and exercising (gotta keep fit cuz programmer's life) and then off to home to spend the rest 6-7 hrs of the day on WoW :D

Communication:

I am fluent in English and i do have a microphone which i dont mind using when necessary and i have no problem listening to others.

Computer / Connection:

The PC i mainly game on has a i7 6700K clocked at 4.8GHz with a gtx 1070 and a samsung pro 512GB SSD. The laptop which is my work laptop and the one i use when im away to play has a core i7 7700hq and a gtx 1050 GPU which maintains 60fps on 7/10 settings in orgrimmar and most places. The connection i use is a 100/100 MB optic fibre connection and my ms is around 30-40. The ISP i use has a reset every 12 hours and i lose connection for exactly 10 seconds, and another 10 seconds to get back into the game. The hour at which this happens rotates so it might be one week that i dc once during raid time and then another 4-5 weeks that it happens outside raid times. Dont ask me why they do this, it makes no sense to me either but its the best ISP in my country.

Addons/UI:

the addons i use are: ElvUI, Details!, Weakauras 2, Auctionator, Raider.io. At the time of writing i cant link a UI screenshot since im writing this while waiting for a new task at work :). I will upload it once i get home around 17:00.

Other Games:

I mostly play LoL (extremely casually, havent played ranked since 2016) and on my PS4 Pro games like Bloodborne, God of War etc. etc.

Why Iron Edge?

Seeing how my experience wasn't the best with the previous guild due to lack of leadership and stable raiding roster, reading your profile on wowprog seems to show that you have what i look for in a guild the most. Stable raiding roster and people who are willing to work for this guild to be as good as possible.

What can I offer Iron Edge?

What you get with me is a dedicated player, who is willing to do anything to help out the raiding team in any way possible. I always keep up to date on the classes i play since i do like to excel at whatever i'm playing and my alts aren't an exception. So whether im playing on my alts or on my main you get me as close to 100% as possible.

Where did I hear about Iron Edge?

Saw your profile on wowprogress.

Last Words?

Not much more i can say. Whether u accept me or decline me.... i will be needing more pictures of phoenixflame's dog.

Since i can't find a way to edit my application here is the UI link. This is a new UI i'm trying out for BFA, might revert to an older version and will link that if it happens.

What kind of steps did your previous guild leadership take that you felt so strongly about?

Hi Hollygaurd,

It seems like you've been on the more hardcore side of raiding in the past. As you've seen we're on a more casual side of only 2 days a week. Is this going to be enough for you? Or would want more? I'm concerned as this has happened before as not providing what you may actually want.

I used to be yes, but work doesn't allow me to be on the HC side anymore, and judging by your progress i feel like i wont be lacking anything. I would much rather raid 2 times a week with focused ppl who do it for fun and progress than 3-4 times with ppl who do it as a chore and burn out mid tier. Also if i ever feel bored, i see there is a weekend raid going on, so i can clear some hc with those guys on alts :)

I see, also in regards to the weekend raid, if you look for a spot there you'll need to contact Xormn. As he's the weekend raid leader it'll depend on if he needs you.

But i'm willing to give you a trial for raiding in BFA. Poke an officer for an invite :)
